6 + 2 Point Deductions

The very existence of P&S rules is punishment enough for teams like us. They have stopped us competing. The only routes available for a team to break into the elite are to a) spend far more than your revenue and hope you break into the top 4 and stay there within three seasons, b) slowly and gradually build the team relying on outstanding player turnover over the long term

To this day no one has done option B, we had a go at option A and failed due to a mix of poor recruitment and also injuries. Newcastle and Villa are currently having a go at Option A. Both will not be successful unless the top 6 have a huge failure and they will be back to looking at options like selling their best players to come back into compliance, artificially inflating their sponsorship deals, or just trying to hide it from the prem and hope the regs go away

So if Villa don’t make it this year into the top 4, Emery is probably looking at transfer restrictions next year, just as Lopetegui was, just as Ancelotti was, even though all three clubs have owners who could continue to bankroll spending without an issue. Emery will go, players sold, and Villa are back to square one.

So basically if you’re not in the top 6 you have to be perfect to have even a chance of getting into the elite with these rules in place.

If you are one of the scab six you can spend what you want whenever you want however many times you want buoyed by massive commercial revenues gained over previous decades when they could spend without restriction to get their place at the top of the game.

Maybe we should just all be like a Palace or Fulham instead, just have no ambition, stay in your lane in the PL and sell your top players now and then to keep the books healthy. What’s the point?!

We’re not guilty of anything, the rules are corrupt ones designed to keep the scab six at the top, and we’ve been more than punished enough by them already.
Exactly. And to even consistently stay in the top 4. The rules are to benefit the top 6.

The system is rigged to protect the people at the top table.

Even worse is the top table are looking at ways to increase the gap for themselves. TV deals and how its split will be targetted in the near future.
Spot on. It is only going to get worse as the top of the table looks to distance themselves from the rest of the league. It's already a substantial gap.

How could our owners continue to fund massive losses year after year. If they could we wouldn't be on the brink of administration. If Moshiri could continue to fund massive losses then why is he prepared to sell up at a huge loss.

As for Newcastle not being successful. That is laughable they are in the CL despite spending a fraction of what Moshiri pissed away. They might be run by an evil corrupt nation but they are actually well-run, unlike us.

They’ve spent £416m in the last two years. Please get your facts right Baileyjon.

Given the events of the last week, I felt it was important I share with you the thoughts of myself, Sean and all the staff and players here at Finch Farm as we prepare for the return to Premier League action this weekend.

Colin’s video message last Friday echoed my views and the sentiment of everybody here at Finch Farm. We are shocked by what we believe is a wholly disproportionate and unjust ruling by the Premier League’s commission.

We cannot say anything further on the commission’s findings until the conclusion of the appeal process - and the players and manager cannot be drawn on any specifics relating to the commission’s ruling in the media duties they will be fulfilling in the days and weeks ahead.

But the clear and tangible impact on our league position because of that ruling is clear to see in the Premier League table. We return to action five places lower than the 14th position held following our hard-fought victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The three points from that victory may no longer be accounted for in the table - nor seven other hard-earned points amassed during this season. But what does remain in place is the unity, focus and determination that helped earn those points on the field of play - now supplemented by the additional fuel of what we believe is a wholly disproportionate ruling.

We are rallying in the face of a sporting sanction in the only way we can - and that is our focus and hard work in supporting the team in delivering to their fullest on the pitch.

Everton is a special football club. It is a special football club because of its people - our players, staff and fans.

We go into this weekend having secured six wins from our last nine outings in all competitions. The team has displayed a level of effort, camaraderie and bravery that is synonymous with this club in earning those victories.

That spirit remains strong - unwavering. Sean and the players are fully focused on the work that lies ahead. And everybody at Finch Farm is united.

We know that every Evertonian is behind us. That is never taken for granted, but always hugely appreciated and valued. We feel the strength of support, and we will continue to use that backing to drive us on.

Because it’s his company, it’s not a public institution that relies on revenue solely. If he was allowed to he could just do a director loan for any loss we have each year until we are successful and then revenues massively increase and the club washes its face. That’s what City and Chelsea did to break into the elite.

Now he’s prevented from doing that though so we effectively are closer to financial peril than before the regs came into play because now all clubs effectively need to be elf funding from revenue only which of course only benefits those with ginormous commercial revenues built up from the exact sort of debt fuelled expenditure you are now complaining against decades before.

O look a certain someone is no longer at the club and suddenly we get to hear not once but twice from Kev in the space of 2 weeks
