2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Must be badly injured, otherwise how can a professional footballer be so slow 🤷‍♂️
He's old. This is why you don't sign players at the age we signed him, and why you don't consistently extend their contracts afterward. When the cliff comes it's a swift fall, doubly so if your game isn't based on technical ability in any way.

What a whopper you are. Also saved the club millions by scoring the goal that kept us in the division.
The fallacy here is that if we hadn't signed someone as crap as him and spent our resources better we may not end up in the place that requires that goal in the first place.

This is my prediction for 🔥 thread of the season. The boo boys need a new victim to hate on and deflect their fat self loathing onto.

This season is Doucoure.

Gonna be hilarious when we eventually do get a new manager and half the forum write him off immediately and spend the following 18 months in Everton Fan manager wars part 345.

It's easier to just have blind faith, surely? :hayee:

It's what we can get, what we can keep. Would love to have Rodri but...

The summer we signed Doucoure also saw Brighton sign Caicedo, Palace sign Eze and West Ham sign Soucek.

And who cares what we can keep. We have to be able to sell and replace. That’s just the reality of modern football.

Soucek would have flopped here, or at least wouldn't have been what we needed. We were crying out for legs in midfield. Tidy player, but we badly needed more mobility in that area.
