Transfer Rumour Jaden Philogene

I think Ipswich are gonna do a Forest the other year and just start buying players to stop us buying them and strengthening.

Not even bothered by this, at 12m yes he's worth the chance, at 18 during the summer I already thought it was way overpriced, 21m after 5 months of sitting on villas bench doing nothing, nah not even remotely worth it.

Got the feeling we prefer the west brom lad anyways.

Overpaying for players is a huge element of why we ended up in a financial mess to begin with, once you go down that road you're literally creating a rod for your own back as all other transfers you do subsequently will get inflated by the selling club as you have already shown you'll pay over the odds

Wow I can't believe that the agent that used our name to get his player out there in the summer did it again. No way!

Romano is quite clearly paid for and not to be trusted

Romano has always been the ultimate lurker.

Fella has stolen a living by using others information for a long, long time.

Given his account is in 24-7 operation, I suspect that he has multiple people running his account whilst he's ay home counting his cash.

Massive swerve for me. Only reputable A list source for me is Ornstein.

I don’t get why any attacker would sign for us, we haven’t plenty of wingers and strikers most are poor, and we don’t know how to use the decent ones. I can see why they would go elsewhere.
Not a chance our owners are spending £20m on a player for a manager and Dof on their way out.

He failed at Villa. At least 1 reject less
Just a smart PSR move on their behalf. Freed up about 10m of profit within the space of six months by basically doing nothing -- can't be bad. Whereas we literally have no young players coming through that have any potential except for filling the bench as our first team squad is so bad.

No half decent attacker will want to play for a team that has only scored a handful of open play goals all season.
I think many from abroad will as we're likely to be able to offer large salary increases. I doubt Everton was offering Philogene a substantially better contract than Ipswich, if at all, so it was purely a football choice for him. Can't blame him for swerving us.

But then the risk with signing players from abroad, as we know as we've been stung countless time, is you have no idea if they'll be able to adapt to the league, and if they don't you're left with a player you've just overpaid for and have stuck with you earning 80 grand a week for the next four years.

Cenk Tosun, for example, we wasted a good 40m pounds on (signing fee, salary). Gbamin also. Imagine what we could have done with that 80m pounds if we'd have spent it wisely.
