There was a few hints yesterday from a few sources that any incoming movement would depend on a sale. Plan seems to have been Beto back to Italy and then bring in a winger. Even a loan with obligation for Beto, the club could have apparently booked the value for PSR purposes to give them wiggle room. The injuries to DCL, Broja and now a setback for Chermitti has now put the breaks on Beto moving which in turn ballses up our own plans.

Who knows how interested we actually were, but if it was a choice then I certainly don't blame him. Will have more of a chance to impress in the Ipswich side vs a team who are set up not to play football.

Difficult one, think we've missed out on a really good talent there. But that does seem like too inflated a fee. Also, Dyche can be reluctant to try and use new signings in a timely manner, so would it have been a pointless signing for this season anyway?

They had a league 1 funding mate, then championship, then PL in a very short space of time.

Imagine their budget, compared to the revenue growth. The scope for spending is huge.

It literally would have went from small 10s of millions to 100s of millions, likely unbudgeted for or expected for.

If they go down they also get parachute payments. One of those payments is prob more than their budget two seasons ago.

It’s also about losses they have the huge jump in revenue + 35 mill - that alone in about 5 of this lad.

They’ll be more than good IMO.

Ipswich town are better ran and funded than the majority of Premier league clubs imho. They have huge wealth and expertise behind them and know exactly what they can and cannot do financially, because of the manager they are well in advance of their business plan
