Just discussing this earlier. The only thing I'd say is that it may depend on bit on how highly we rate Armstrong.

But Mcatee feels like "Moyes type signing" if ever there was one.

Just looking at Moyes first batch of transfers at the beginning of his first stint. A mixed bag...

It was Ginola, Richard Wright, Rodrigo, Yobo, Li Tie and Li Wefing in his first window - followed by Carsley, Baardsen, McBride and Ibrahim Said in the following January.

In his second summer it was, Killer Kilbane, Iain Turner, Jeffers (back on loan), McFadden, and Martyn.

He liked a GK back then - four of them in a year!

Targetted more expansive players more latterly e.g. Kudus, Paqueta, Ward-Prowse, Bowen etc...

No idea of what profile he will be looking for in this window TBH.

Ginola wasn’t signed by moyes

Moyes first signing was either wright or yobo

I think yobo was first

Ginola was signed during the mark highes , Gazza and anyone else that used to be be good 10 years prior to sign, years

Ginola first game was against arsenal, first minute he dummies a throw in , turned his man and let fly and nearly scored a cracker …. Then did nothing else for the length of his stay lol

Early days for Armstrong, good signs but nowhere near as promising as Barkley was at that age.

Yeah, people forget (or choose to) what an absolute talent Barkley was at 17. Honestly, I think he had more talent than Rooney, Rooney just developed the physique earlier. That double leg break absolutely stunted his growth to a massive degree.

That and that he's thick as the earths crust too.

We could do the selling in June if need be. JB profit will cover this season if the right players became available this month, good players that will perform now and still get better over 3 years.

But if those players aren’t available yet, we can push the JB sale into July and go crazy, which we will have to as we will only have enough contracted players for 5-a-side.

Bit of a risk now having only JB worth any money. If he gets crocked in April we are screwed. The rebuild will be shoddy.

He will have his suitors, just depends on wether they try and get him this window

….Aaron Cresswell aged 35 on a short-term deal. Local lad, wife is also local and just had a mansion built in these parts.

Great shout , one of the biggest reasons we are in this mess is that we don’t have enough local players wife’s and recently built local mansions ..
