Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

And how are we meant to be signing McAtee?
It’s a real shame we have no domestic loan slots left. Wonder if city would have accepted a loan with an obligation (all based on if they’d be looking to sell in the first place of course).

Don’t see how we get him this window right now either

This would have to be it, due to PSR constraints, one presumes - and we'd have to come to an arrangement with Chelsea on wages etc. that allows us to cancel the Broja loan and free up that spot first, assuming his season is finished.

edit: or else Roma buys him and loans him to us ;)

In 20 minutes McAtee has scored as many as any Everton player has scored all season. If there’s any possibility of getting him in we should be all over it!
No chance...city has learned from past mistakes and I am sure he is going nowhere. The most we could hope for is perhaps a short term loan which might not be the best option if we are looking to rebuild.

We could do the selling in June if need be. JB profit will cover this season if the right players became available this month, good players that will perform now and still get better over 3 years.

But if those players aren’t available yet, we can push the JB sale into July and go crazy, which we will have to as we will only have enough contracted players for 5-a-side.

Bit of a risk now having only JB worth any money. If he gets crocked in April we are screwed. The rebuild will be shoddy.
I think we'll be disappointed at the interest/value of Branthwaite. United laughed at our valuation and bought elsewhere in the Summer. City are buying now for less than half of what we wanted. It's a dangerous game to buy now on the basis that we can sell him for a good fee in June to cover ourselves. That 80m could end up being 50m or less if we're desperate.

Send Harrison back to Leeds and Broja back to Chelsea.

They are both poor (my opinion).

Ruthless Everton.

City let Sancho go and they didn't learn mate, as they subsequently let Palmer go, after Palmer they again then let Delap go.

Pretty sure City have learnt f all as it's a business model to basically cash in on their academy lads for entire PSR profit enabling them to then go out and buy what they see as the already fully developed stars.

I'd put money on Mcatee not being there come the start of the next season.

I'm hopeful Moyes will unearth talent that are relative unknowns or playing lower leagues and turn them into high profile players.

Lescott, Baines, Peinaar, Cahill, Jags all perfect examples of that.

In recent times, clubs who have bought players from the championship haven't done too badly. Bowen, Eze, Wharton etc

Either way, I'm more optimistic now than I was in December.
