Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

City let Sancho go and they didn't learn mate, as they subsequently let Palmer go, after Palmer they again then let Delap go.

Pretty sure City have learnt f all as it's a business model to basically cash in on their academy lads for entire PSR profit enabling them to then go out and buy what they see as the already fully developed stars.

I'd put money on Mcatee not being there come the start of the next season.

There's also a structural thing in this. It's very hard to blood lots of young players and be an elite team. You can basically go and sign the best player in a position, the desire to put a younger player in becomes less.

I'm not sure what can be feasibly done this window, whether a loan could be freed up, whether they would let him go now etc. But he is about as close to a Moyes type player as you can get really. He's had experience in the championship and PL, English player, good technically but works hard and is 22 so ready to play, but still some room for improvement.

We would have to cover their salary till the end of the season but send them back which opens two slots.

…..I’m not sure it’s that easy. I can see Chelsea wanting to manage Broja’s injury and somebody did say he could be taken out of our player list if his injury is season ending but I doubt Leeds would be willing to have Harrison back.

I know we need goals, but I really want to see what we're going to do about left back. Moyes still wants full backs who get forward, but Mykolenko can't pass or cross and Young is too old to get up and down. I wonder who we'll go for.
I wouldn’t personally be for it but it wouldn’t wholly surprise me if Moyes moved Branthwaite to left back - depending on what he thinks of o brien.

I don’t think it’s a long term option as he’s obviously a world class centre back but in the short term it wouldn’t surprise me if he did it like he did with Lescott. He did well there against Fulham in the cup and do think he’s just more of an athlete than myko so could be more of an attacking threat.

I can't see it mate.

And Myko has as much attacking prowess as a cocker spaniel puppy does when fighting a Tiger.

Would be happy giving Patterson & Dixon a chance to impress under Moyes until the Summer and concentrate on acquiring another LB as competition for Mykolenko.

Keep Young and Coleman as experienced heads to see a game out after 60 - 70 mins as Baines did with Young in the cup.

Yeah but your villa mate hasn’t been watching cack Harrison for two year has he ?

“ not good” is still levels above “ eye aids “
I get what you’re saying but would you judge Harrison playing on the left? You can’t as he’s never played there for us. That’s his position. At Leeds all goals and assists ( IN THE PREM) were from the Left.
In fairness to Harrison he tries to fit in wherever the manager puts him. I think he’s a victim of that.
He’s been poor this season but so has most of the team.
