Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Ah, had a feeling we'd be in for that Edwards.

Never for one second believed Embolo though.
You never know, the Friedkin's were able to keep a lid on a lot of Roma's activity, but who knows if they are fully involved with transfers yet or leaving to Thelwell.

Had my concerns when I heard he was linked last week with a few teams, probably agents pushing for a move

I’m getting pretty worried by the lack of signings. Everyone else in the Prem seems to be doing business and we’re barely being mentioned on the transfer news shows. Why do we always leave it so late?

Mate, you do realise that transfer rumours that are shown to be true are a sign that the club is unprofessionally ran.

The club ultimately is a business, signing players are business deals, in a field with a lot of competitors, in no other field would leaking information about deals you were attempting to conclude be regarded as anything but incompetent practise.

Only truly huge companies above the competition in business can get away with it - same as in football were the top clubs like real etc can use the power of the brand to force competitors away from deals.

Who else in the Prem has signed a player that realistically fits the following criteria - 1. we could afford them - 2. they would choose to come to us - 3. they will make a difference between now and the end of the season - 4. they are a sound investment, not just a panic buy that we will be lumbered with for years to come (as previously)?

Looking at the list here: https://www.skysports.com/football/...window-2025-premier-league-deals-ins-and-outs hardly any business has been done, it is all mostly speculation driven by agents and media to make these transfer news shows.

Assuming he would have left London, Esse from Millwall is the only one that would have excited me. Philogene was a no for me, but I appreciate divides opinion.

If Kayode gets added to that list by going to Brentford, that is one I would have wanted us to be after as well.
I get your point, but I guess I was just hoping (perhaps stupidly) that we might be a bit more decisive in this window given that the takeover was on the horizon for a while.

Do feel the club will be talking to chelsea about doing another loan deal and will prob go on late into the window. With us trying to agree broja loan money with another maybe cutting the other loan cost. Going to be tough so hopefully have two other players ready to go before
