Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We need to spend 90% of the budget on a striker, RW & AM. The rest should be offered extensions
Given the contracts that are expiring are so high, extensions simply won’t work for a lot of them. Extending Keane and Doucoure would put us further away from being able to spend effectively even if there would be no signing fee, which can be amortised anyway.

We need to be spending less on each individual player but have more depth. The PL is a poor league and it’s been shown that if you have a deeper squad to make 5 subs each week, you take points that you perhaps don’t deserve.

Combine that with Moyes’ track record for finding and building teams with big, sturdy players (which is all you need in the PL really) then it’s a promising summer I think

It’s difficult. Fresh start? Yes please, but we can’t buy half a squad
But if we are offering extensions to Doucoure £130k and Keane £75k a week you are seriously hamstringing this club for PSR, that in itself will cost the club £10.6m next season, 5% of the clubs yearly revenue on 2 players who don`t really offer much.

We signed 9 players last summer, between money signings, loans and free transfers we should be fine, and no doubt we will extend the likes of Gana and keep Alcaraz I would imagine. Think people are making more of it than they need to tbh.
I agree, you`d think Harrison Armstrong will come back stronger for his loan away, Harry Tyrer also well thought of at Blackpool and should be the natural successor to Joao Virginia who just needs to go and play.

Of those leaving on loan and out of contract I would only retain Alcaraz and Gana Gueye, happily wave goodbye to Dom, Doucoure, Lindstrom, Harrison, Broja, Keane, Virginia, Ashley Young, Coleman & Begovic.

What will that leave?

GK
1 Pickford
2 Tyrer
3 Crellin

RB
1 Patterson
2

CB
1 Tarkowski
2 Branthwaite
3 O`Brien (Depending on where Moyes sees him next season)
4

LB
1 Mykolenko
2

CM
1 Gueye
2 Garner
3 Iroebugnam
4 Armstrong

LM
1 NDaiye
2 McNeil

AM (10)
1 Alcaraz
2

RM
1
2

ST
1 Beto (Although I`d sell)
2 Chermiti

Squad of 16, 8 or 9 needed but only 2 or 3 will need to be 1st choice quality and the rest can be competitve back up players or young developments.

RM/RW and ST is the most obvious we need good quality and I can`t wait to see Alcaraz and NDaiye in the same team.

Harrison dropped off so badly second half. Had acres of space and time to get a cross in but kept moving inside and when he finally decided to cross it, he had been closed down and the angle was all wrong for a cross.
Agree that we start a game handicapped with harrison and dacoure

The saving on these players will be c£600k a WEEK and nearly £32m next season. Plus we lose any portion of wages we might be paying for Holgate and Maupay.
