Goodison Statues

Should the statues at Goodison stay, be moved to the new stadium or replicas made?

  • Kept in situ

  • Kept in situ but replicas made for BM

  • Originals moved to BM

I'm torn on this one.

Goodison is where they should be. That is where their legends were made, and we should not be removing evidence that we were there and that was home.

But it's also important to carry our history with us to BMD. We're moving, but we're still Everton.

I don't like the idea of replicas, because that's inherently hollow. You're in Vegas Eiffel Tower territory.

So I think new statues, from new sculptors, of Dixie and the Holy Trinity - and more statues of important figures from our past - should be dotted around BMD.
The cost of Dixies one solid Bronze must be worth a fortune alone ....

I think we should leave the statues where they are. We need new statues, there should be one for Neville Southall, he was the greatest goalkeeper in the world and its crazy that he doesn't already have one and there should be one for Joe Royle, won as a player and manager for us, total legend for me.

Southall and Kendall for me Joe would be third as we already have a holy trinity and a Dixie Dean statues.

Why do anything anywhere, Joey?

Why have a stadium because it could get angle ground down and sold for scrap?

Why leave our history to get vandalised & it will - they will be glad to see the back of us - if you move house you take valuable things with you - We should be taking all our history with us ...

The Littlewood's clocks ended up in a skip ... - we should not make bad mistakes like this as a repeat if you think they will be left alone you are naive.....

I think that’s defeatist, Joey.

I don’t want us to erase all trace of our footballing existence in Walton.

You clean paint, you repair statues. You don’t let that lot dictate where in the city we can leave our well-earned mark.
