Goodison Statues

Should the statues at Goodison stay, be moved to the new stadium or replicas made?

  • Kept in situ

  • Kept in situ but replicas made for BM

  • Originals moved to BM

I'm torn on this one.

Goodison is where they should be. That is where their legends were made, and we should not be removing evidence that we were there and that was home.

But it's also important to carry our history with us to BMD. We're moving, but we're still Everton.

I don't like the idea of replicas, because that's inherently hollow. You're in Vegas Eiffel Tower territory.

So I think new statues, from new sculptors, of Dixie and the Holy Trinity - and more statues of important figures from our past - should be dotted around BMD.

Bring them home.

Imagine laving them at a deserted Goodison so the Kopite rats can vandalise and burn them.

Utter madness.

If I were the sculptor I'd demand them back if that were the case.
Was just going to post exactly the same.
Why subject them to the vandslism that we all know will happen with that shower of crap across the park.
Keep them safe.
They will be forgotton if left there alone.

I think the forgotten argument is the clincher. Once we move a large percentage of the fanbase will never go to L4 again and as time passes increasingly so

I initially just thought they’d move with us but I do understand the reasoning behind they staying in situ.

Personally I’d like to walk past them on the way the game next season but I’ll not be upset to see them remain and maintain that connection to the area .

Should the Dixie Dean and Holy Trinity Statues be left in situ after the move to the new stadium, moved to BM or replicas made for the new stadium and the originals kept where they are?
Personally I feel they should be kept where they are and replicas made for the new stadium. Goodison was their stomping ground and where they became Everton legends.
Also, after the Grand Old Lady is gone they would be landmarks and reminders of where she once stood.
Think of statues like photos on the wall or sideboard (if you're into that sort of thing) of your dear departed mum dad etc...just because you've moved to a new house, a house that Mam and Dad never ever set foot in, wasn't even there when they were alive -

Would you leave those photos, especially if there's a chance that your old house might get bulldozed
Well would you?
Would you throw them in the skip in the big clean out when you move?

Nah.

We move - they move.

Also a landmark for Kopites to vandalise them .....they should be moved to BMD - those four players were iconic of our glory years ....
