Just got home. Keeping mum in for 2 blood transfusions but told that because of her condition and frailty that she will have a DNR ( do not resuscitate) notice on her records.
Police wouldnāt give any information other than someone had been charged so donāt know anything else for sure.Understandable for him to be ill after all the stress he has been through.
Good that the burglar has been apprehended but only if they get a sufficiently harsh sentence. Do you know if they were local to the area or just targeting somewhere to rob?
I agreed to a DNR for my Mum. Our GP also described the procedure in pretty graphic terms and ultimately it would have made little difference other than prolonging Mumās life for a few more hours.Couldn't have put it better AT
We were "consulted" last night / early morning but the Dr made clear that the final decision was his alone and that he was strongly in favour of DNR for mum ( even described in pretty graphic terms the injuries that she would suffer if they attempted CPR ).
In fact it's the correct decision in mum's case but I wonder with other patients less able to advocate for themselves if they feel bullied into "agreeing".
Anyway been back to hospital this morning and no change. Mum hasn't had a transfusion yet and she might need 3 . Dr thinks that she either has an ulcer or bowel.cancer but agrees with me that the invasive tests to ascertain the underlying cause won't lead to treatment options because of her age / condition so what's the point of putting her through it.
Going back this afternoon.
Knackered.
Thatās a tough situation for you Jazzy , get as much rest as you can.Couldn't have put it better AT

In my formative years we didnāt have a Police force as such and any petty criminals like the burglar were administered a very swift justice. While brutal of course, it did mean a very low crime rate outside of the political violence. Perhaps understandably, itās common to hear people of age reflect that the Troubles werenāt all bad.Police wouldnāt give any information other than someone had been charged so donāt know anything else for sure.
Thanks PeteReally sorry to hear this Jazzyā¦.
We have one in a park in Wigan where we always used to rub the statueās shoe for luck. It is Sir Francis Sharp Powell, a Conservative MP ( unusual for Wigan) who did a lot for education apparently. Not quite as daring as in DublinI began my morning by reading a BBC article on tourists groping the Molly Malone statue in Dublin. Apparently it is considered good luck to touch her breasts and is in fact encouraged by some tour operators. The result now is that Ms Maloneās bosom is now a different hew to the rest of the statue and this is prompting calls for relocation to a plinth.
It is a very strange world we live in.
Oh so very cuteNora with her pals at doggie day care
Aw bless herI'll give that a pass AT - good luck to Jake and all that ( hopefully he doesn't get injured) - but think I will continue listening to a bit of Hall and Oates and then watch The Apprentice.
Have a lovely evening.
PS thanks so much for asking about mum. Today was one of her better days at least until tea when I made her quiche and salad and she insisted that she'd never ever had quiche and asked why I hadn't put the salad in the oven.
Never been known to dodge a bit of ironing to be honestI think you put her off Blue.
