Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone, I hope you’re all well. Great news about your mum @jazzy - a bit of a strop and an assertive child are a good combination and I hope it’s not too long before she’s back at home.
I’ve had a lovely week so far making up for the weeks of grandparenting I missed. Took the family out for lunch at a lovely pub not too far away (Eagle and Child, Bispham - you might know it @jazzy ) and carrying on my new love of Guiness 0 too. Apparently I split the G! I have heard this so much but was afraid to ask what it meant 😂. It’s a good job I have my son to educate me in these things - only this week when I’ve been watching the new series This City is ours have I realised why my son thought it was hilarious when I asked if he wanted any lemo with his JD. Who knew it wasn’t lemonade- only me apparently. Yesterday afternoon was spent pushing the pram around the beautiful west Lancashire countryside in the sunshine with a brief stop at the park.
It looks like another sunny spring day outside and I hope everyone will enjoy it 💙

Me neither or split the G. I have and continue to lead a sheltered life.🤣 Glad you are catching up on Grandparenting.

Love the Eagle and Child! About 10 minutes drive away. It's a lovely historic pub on the centre of the village green.

Did you try their deli shop ? It's really good and the wine section is superb.

Congratulations on splitting the G - honestly @Gwladysover it's not a euphemism for anything other than taking a big gulp of Guinness.

Yes it's a beautiful day out there. Gym and gardening this am and visiting mum this afternoon.

We've decided that if the LA can't get their finger out and sign off on the care plan agreed with the hospital that she is coming home tomorrow regardless as she is insistent that she can do what she did before she went in and demonstrated yesterday that she gets get out of bed in her own and get about using her walker.

Have a lovely day everyone.

That’s frustrating for her and you , hopefully it’s sorted soon. When my then 90 year old father in law was in the same situation in hospital all had been agreed but we had to wait for a home Care Team to become available. All worked out ok in the end, although having the Carers in 3 or 4 times a day was a bit intrusive they did a great job. Hope it’s resolved quickly for you all.

Thanks for enlightening me, I had no clue. I’m nothing if not slow on the uptake.
Hope everything goes well with Mum tomorrow.
