New Everton Stadium

Surely sponsors are mutually exclusive to having a big ‘EFC’ marked out on one of the stands?
I assume the real reason is poor planning.
I think it’s a bit unfair to assume lack of planning.

I mean, it’s been true of Everton in many aspects of their operation, but the planning and execution of the stadium build has been near flawless.

If it is indeed an oversight - and I can’t honestly see that it would be - it’s not a bad one, as billion dollar stadium builds go.

That would make sense Tom, and interesting fact about your friend’s situation.

I assume then if this is the case, that these GA seats that the club are holding back have been taken out of the “available ST” selection incrementally during each new tenure tranche, as it wasn’t obvious (to me at least) that there were large numbers of unselectable seats at the very start of the ST purchasing process.

Yes, there weren't any evident when i looked on the first day, even though a few hundred upper tier front row seats had already been allocated to staff. I tried a few seats that appeared to have gone instantly..... only to later find out about the staff having had first dibs.

I can only assume that they'd want to spread those available matchday seats around evenly, so as not to leave large vacant sections in a non-capacity crowd. It also took a long time for anyone to show any interest in the North Stand, which was relatively empty till the later tranches opened up (despite being the cheapest section).

All the years of broken promises, the disappointment, now all gone, and just one more sleep until another load of blues see the stadium for the very first time.
Surreal doesn't do the feeling justice, can't wait.
I'll be one of those blues come tomorrow. To say I'm like a kid at Christmas would be an understatement. The photos and videos that came from the first test match looked spectacular, to say the least. I can only imagine what it'll be like in the flesh.

You will not believe it when you see it. The photos and videos are so far from the reality it will make you question reality itself
