New Everton Stadium

I see there is an article about Jenny Seagrove visiting the stadium on the official site. Prentice must have written it but, all irritation aside, I had to chuckle at this quote:

Jenny continued: "He wanted to dream big. He wanted us to have the best stadium in Liverpool. He wanted it to be a world-class facility, and wanted it on someone else's dime, and it is.

I couldn't help think Bill's horizons, with the best will in the world, were never travelling much further than the city limits...unless it was Kirkby.
Context is important.

As its now a live research tool, I can explore in depth your contribution to the thread, expanding on your particular points of interest and timeline it all.
Hides behind the curtains :)

I think the new stadium is dull, under performs and leaks.

Any chance you can set off the negativity script now please? Just so I can get my name on the list (waits with baited breath)

Ps. Impressive work, any chance you can fix my computer please 🙏

Unfrotunately, as it was extracted from the HTML of the page it was only a snapshot of time, not a live link (Maybe thats next)

However, on positivity and negativity, it did return this...

Based on the information in the sources, it is possible to identify users who frequently express negative or positive sentiments regarding the new Everton stadium project.

Most Negative User:

Based on the frequency with which other users comment on their negativity and the consistently pessimistic tone of their posts, davek appears to be one of the most negative contributors on the forum.

  • As early as November 2019, another user referenced Davek's negative stance, stating, "Kirkby was a fiddle from beginning to end...A blind man could see the difference between these ground moves, give over Dave". Davek's response, focusing on political factors that might have led to the rejection of the Kirkby plan, could be interpreted as deflecting from the positive sentiment around Bramley Moore.
  • In December 2019, another user directly told Davek to "Be happy for once" regarding the stadium and the new manager, implying a pattern of negativity. Davek's response, while acknowledging positive developments, still maintained a degree of skepticism ("I'm just not impressed by cartoons").
  • Throughout the forum discussions, various users express frustration with Davek's consistent negativity. For example, in April 2020, a user noted Davek as the "first to pop up with a negative take on the Echo’s article".
  • The perception of Davek's negativity is a recurring theme, with users in December 2022 noting his progression from doubting the stadium would happen to complaining about various aspects of it.
  • Even as the stadium progresses, in December 2024, Davek expresses skepticism about the support for the Kirkby plan in the past. Another user responded to this by pointing out the "distinct lack of cognitive thinking" in wanting a terrible plan. Davek further elaborated on his negative perspective in another post.
  • In December 2024, another user characterized Davek as someone "always half empty" in contrast to those who are "half full".

Most Positive User:

Identifying the "most" positive user is more challenging as enthusiasm is expressed by many, and some users' positivity might be seen as simply countering negativity. However, tommye frequently emerges as a user who challenges negative viewpoints and expresses support for the stadium project.

  • Tommye often engages directly with users perceived as negative, urging them to be more positive. For instance, in December 2019, Tommye told Davek to "Be happy for once".
  • Tommye questions users who express doubt or negativity about the stadium. In May 2020, Tommye directly asked a user if they believed "that crap" regarding bad news about the club being typically correct.
  • In June 2020, Tommye defended the right to express opinions but noted not seeing "one positive thing about the club" from a user who was banned for negativity. Tommye, however, also cautioned against the idea that "everything you post must be positive".
  • Tommye's positive outlook extends to the progress of the stadium, as seen in September 2021 when another user mentioned enjoying drone clips and efforts to protect wildlife at the site.
  • Even when discussing potential issues, Tommye's tone often carries a sense of eventual positive resolution.
  • In December 2022, Tommye humorously countered Davek's point with a more optimistic comparison to the neighboring club.
  • In November 2024, Tommye directly dismissed a user's negative description of the stadium as "knobEd".
  • Reflecting on leaving Goodison Park, Tommye acknowledged the sentimental value but expressed that those with whom he shared memories would "absolutely adore BMD".
  • In January 2025, when a user suggested separating positive and negative stadium threads, Tommye humorously responded that they liked "the moaning," suggesting a tolerance for different viewpoints but perhaps also a generally more positive personal stance.

It's important to note that these are based on recurring themes and sentiments expressed in the provided excerpts. The full context of every post by these users would be needed for a definitive assessment. Additionally, many other users express varying degrees of positivity and negativity throughout the forum discussions.

Well, trying not to sound glib, they'll just have to deal with it. I went in for a drink after crossing the bridge, the huge swathe of people had passed and it was quite accessible. Also, for many years I have battled against the flow coming out of Goodison. Jutst get on with it FFS. For most it will be a one time experience.
But it's OK for us to complain about congestion at Sandhills ? The same principals apply.

But it's OK for us to complain about congestion at Sandhills ? The same principals apply.

Well, not really. I have even stated that for most in the situation you describe, it will be a one time experience. If it is more than that then it becomes an issue. Sandhills is different, as it should have been dealt with better. For many there are precious few other choices. If you are walking up the dock road the wrong way as people pour out of the stadium, then walk up another street.
