I think there is more talk about Lookman than he probably deserves, yes I am aware of the irony.
W e want him to stay more because of him wanting to leave than because of anything he has done in the game to date. We have seen glimpses of potential but in all honesty I would not have had him in the starting eleven last season but would have used him from the bench...pretty much as Leipzig did apart from the last few games ... and by then they knew they wanted to sign him and wanted him to feel involved.

He has potential but I feel that the best thing he can do is settle down, work hard and convince his manager that he should play.
He needs to be careful that he doesn't build a career blaming somebody else for his lack of success.
I am interested in how good people think he can become ?

Him being sold is just plain negligence from whoever makes these decisions.

He is better than Sterling at same age and will be a huge PL star very soon. It HAS to be with us. Even if it means Walcott or Sigurrdson don't start, this lad has to.

I think the situation is quite different with Lookman as he really has no profile(yet) in football and his sale would be little more than a footnote in the summers activities overall. The others were high profile players that could have forced a move from nearly every club and risked unsettling the whole club with the publicity they were generating.

If Silva does want to keep Lookman I would have thought he could convince to stay until next summer or even just January and see how things work out for him in that time.

We control the Lookman saga not the other way around. He has 3 years on his contract, the manager and the DoF have come out and said he is very much part of our plans for the coming season and that we want him to stay. Unless someone makes us an offer too good to turn down he'll be here come August.

He has done nothing to prove he is worthy of a regular start. He wasn't even starting for Liepzig generally.

Dunno how he is better than Sterling at this age either. Again based on what?
