"We won't sell Wayne Rooney, even for £50million"

A few days later, Wayne Rooney signs for Man Utd for £28m.
And that has what exactly to do with anything in this day an age? Nothing, everyone who was around at the time and knew what was going on understood we had to sell Rooney because the club had the banks knocking on the door, to bring something up from that far back is silly

But, what is the potential of someone like Lookman ?
This is not a defence of Bolasie or meant as a criticism of Lookman, but , I didn't see that much in him from Sept to December which meant he should start ahead of Bolasie every week.
There is not doubt that he should have been involved more but if you look back at when he was on the pitch he was quite often very ordinary.
I think the club were right that he needed to go on loan, I think Lookman was probably right that the loan to Germany was better than a loan to Derby... as it happens.
This was part of the education of a young footballer, who is still very much on a learning curve.

I suppose I am struggling to understand why he is so determined to leave Everton(if these stories are true) even though there is a complete new management team at the club this year.

At least give them one season.

I agree with you that he wasn't always great and often lacked defensive discipline but if you look at Bolasie, he wasn't playing any better, despite being an experienced player and yet was getting played before him.

The manager should have been swapping between the two players whenever one of them didn't play well to increase competition and make each of the players fight for their place.

From Lookman's point of view I can understand why he became disillusioned, because even when Bolasie wasn't playing well he was still getting chosen over him. Then Walcott comes in, pushing him further down the pecking order.

I agree with you, that if I was him I would give the new manager a chance before deciding to go but with Walcott in front of him his chances of getting a lot of starts are probably limited. He's young and is eager to play but probably doesn't think he'll get the opportunity to play regularly with us, which although I'm gutted I can understand.

As to his potential, we'll all have different opinions on that but I think he's good enough to play regularly for a top level team and will develop his game quicker than if he keeps being used as a squad player.

Think it’s unwise to ignore Ademola’s potential and his production in Germany. I believe he’s got a big part to play, until Silva or Brands says otherwise.

Some game time in a blue shirt should cure all!

He was amazing in Germany, played left wing, centre forward and in the number 10 role. I saw pretty much every game he played over there.

Depending on the make up of our midfield I could see him thriving as a Barkley replacement with Schneiderlin / Gana as the base and him in front.

The RS had a front 4 with 2 defensive midfielders for most of the season, as long as the front 4 press it can work and Richarlison/Walcott/Lookman have all shown they can do that.

Would be gutted if he was moved on without getting a chance.

I guess I'm in a small minority in thinking he's not very good at all, won't make it here and that £15m would be great business for him.

He's improved the play on the field quite a few times in his appearances. He isn't a club lynchpin, but he's good. I won't lose any sleep if he wants to leave.

Why don't you think hes very good out of interest?

Just in the games I've seen him play for us I've not seen him show any kind of stand-out quality, be it on the ball or physical and I've not been massively impressed with his end product. The number of times he gave the ball away needlessly was infuriating at times and there was nothing to make up for it. I'm not saying he can't improve, but I'm not really expecting much.

Every time i seen him, he made me think something will happen even just him beating a man or two just made watching us more enjoyable. I for one really hope he stays, i like him and think given a chance/starts he'll improve

I don't think he should walk into the 11 but he's got potential and deserves a chance. But the biggest issue is that we paid 12 so 15 really isn't that impressive
