Silva has said there's still no new offers. Has a groin issue and wasn't risked.

I'm sure there will be an offer coming, like.

Thats the one that @flo_psg mentioned earlier.

If were getting paid in Euros then it will end up as quite close to £30mil as long as we dont hedge it.

I think toff that any bids at the moment for any players not including Pickford Digne and Richarlison will be looked at.

This gives Brands some time here to either focus on shifting others out or finding a player to come in.

Who would you go for?

If we manage to get a player in the next 48 hours who can fit straight into the system and the league and offer anywhere close to what Gana can do defensively (at his best, which he hasn't been in recent weeks, now) then we've done very, very well.

There's a reason PSG want the lad, ffs.
What system? We dont seem to have one

Good luck to him at psg sure he will do well as they have so much ball. Looking forward to seeing what we do with the midfield line and who we bring in long term. Not expecting anything this window tho. Hope to see schneiderlin make some kind of impact/effort now, theoretically that cm position should be perfect for him if he can get his arse into gear. Next 6 months will be the making of him or he gets added to our hefty out pile.

Doucoure/Ndombele (that type of player). An all-round dominant player. I don't think either are sitters though so we'd still need one of them, which is why i'd say we'd need two midfielders regardless of Gomes, if Gana goes.

As a shorter term fix i'd actually like Wanyama if he'd be available. Think he could play that holding role just fine and would rather him than Barrios, tbh. But he's 27, so it may go against our model.

........ Great defensively, but our attack is actually slowed/impeded if anything when Gueye is involved. If the prices quoted are correct for a player who essentially does the same thing as a James McCarthy, then I'd take the money.

Who knows, maybe this is the beginning of the end of our ponderous 4-2-3-1 formation

No we don't need a short term fix. We are OK being short till the summer. Then we need to sign wisely.

A loan deal for someone would of course be fine in the short term. But not blowing big money.

........ Is the correct answer. Would love for us to scout well and sign a Doucoure-type who can do what Gueye does, but also provides an attacking threat.

We really aren't. We got BOSSED today in central midfield by Huddersfield. I cannot image what would happen against a decent side. We need 2 new CMs/DMs pronto. We get 'em, we move Schnderlin, McCarthy, and we can focus on other areas. Right now we have the slowest and most unathletic central midfield in the entire PL.
