Out of curiosity how many of those played??

We got rolled by their B team
Of their 3 signings so far of sancho, who didn't play, Tom Heaton, who didn't play and some loan return who didn't play, there is also varane who hasn't actually signed, who didn't play.

But we have to ignore that and pretend they made a difference so that benitez has an excuse.

But you claimed we were missing mina. We weren't. And Keane has been our first choice cb for years, so can't even use that as a reason.

That wasn't their first 11 either, probably further from their first 11 than ours actually was. And we drew 3:3 with them at their place last season with the players you talk about needing turfed out.

They have spent 120m but which of those players were in the team?

And you obsession with Eddie howe is laughable.

Go back last season and watch Keanes performances in every game against Utd he's a bomb scare and has the back 4 all over the place when as the senior CB in the side he should be organising the defence.

We got beat 5-0 against Man City, 2-0 against Chelsea which should have been about 5, conceeded 3 at Utd and were all over the place against the likes of Southampton and Leeds who could have put 4 past us if they had their shooting boots on - Chelsea also beat us 4-0 the season before with Carlo as manager.

But of course its all the fault of the bloke who's been here 6 weeks ffs wake up the squad isn't good enough and too many dont give a toss!

DCL, Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Gomes, Gbamin and Kean.
What do you value Sigurdsson, Gomes, Gbamin and Kean at?
Siggy, 31 years old, well past his best, and proving it with his recent performances.
Gomes, not much better.
Gbamin, what sort of money is a player worth who just missed 2 years through injury?
Kean, we pretty much let it be known he's available to buy and the only interest is PSG on loan.

So Benitez didnt pick Michael Keane to play?

Interesting argument...

I would literally have had anybody instead of him.

It's not even a dig against him, it's just an incredibly stupid appointment from an increasingly worrisome owner.
I'm very concerned about the Moshiri/Usmanov thing at the moment tbh. Yes money has been put into the team over the last few years and it's been wasted (we can argue all day who is at fault for it) Everything from day one of them being here has been a disaster if we are being honest and the Benitez thing is just the icing on the cake. I'm really starting to lose confidence in them as owners, there is just no plan, no direction, no nothing, and that's without even having the whole DoF conversation.

I'm not saying Keane is our best cb though. I'm stating thay he has been considered by every manager he has played under as our first choice cb. It's not as if mina is consistent or solid either.

I'm also not entirely blaming benitez for us being battered 4 nil by a man United team that is further from their first 11 than ours was. And I can't be bothered going through all the reasons about why benitez isn't the right person to sort it out yet again.

You are so far up his backside now, you literally have no climb down anymore. You ignore all the points that prove you wrong and go after anything that is slightly subjective instead.

Precisely and whether, we like him or not, Benitez will be aware that he has to deal with a minimum of 18 years of poor leadership from the top of the club. For this reason any manager would struggle.

Sorting out the mess we have become and not least the addirion of players by each manager in the Moshiri era, many of whom are bad buys on excessive wages will take time and involve frustration and pain for supporters.

That is not to say it is not overdue which will hopefully allow us to move forward and upwards.

Perpetually the wrong way to look at it. Sounds great but in practice doesn't address the core issue.

Here's an example. Why do you think Richarlison is more effective in a Gold medal final that a nothing game at home to Sheffield United?

Because Richarlison gives one about plying for Brazil but stopped giving a dime about Everton since Silva left.

We need to face up to the reality that the majority of footballers out there at the moment do not care about playing for Everton. It’s not been their dream when they were growing up. At best we can hope for a bit of professional pride from them or wanting to play up to get a move away. They all want to play for Chelsea Liverpool City and United now.

We should be doing what we did under Moyes, finding players with a point to prove who want to fight for Everton because we gave them an opportunity and they wanted to repay us. We’re bringing in player after player though who couldn’t give two stuffs about the club and either want a retirement pay check, to sit on the bench and get paid more than where they were before, or want guaranteed first team football regardless of their performance so they can sack us off in a few years.
