Takeover bid by Peter Kenyon

This thread on Twitter is pure speculation but food for thought, nonetheless.

Speculative as it may be this is the only logical explanation for this attempted takeover that I have read.
To my knowledge Thornton has exhibited no previous connection to or interest in any sports operation.
Using Kenyon as an advisor / enabler in this does not guarantee his involvement in the club on a permanent or even semi - permanent basis.
There is an obvious danger here of Everton slipping into the ownership of people who lack any interest in our future beyond the actual purchase and subsequent movement of resources and exchange of favours.
Everton would represent a minuscule and irrelevant business within the financial empire of this group and were we to vanish I doubt they would notice or indeed care overmuch.
Until someone can convincingly explain to me why Thornton has a sudden desire to own a PL club I will continue to believe this represents a very dangerous pathway for Everton F.C.

Chelsea owner Boehly warns over spending

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has hinted he will avoid big spending this summer, citing Financial Fair Play considerations.
As quoted by Bloomberg, he said: "Financial Fair Play is starting to get some teeth and that will limit ability to acquire players at any price.
"UEFA takes it seriously and will continue to take it seriously. [More teeth] means financial penalties and disqualification from competitions."

No mate, latest developments are below. Kenyons consortium has a period exclusivity currently so I can confirm to my partners and associates that no meeting can take place with Moshiri at Nandos or Wetherspoons YET.

Lucky we're not governed by UEFA's FFP rules.

I'd rather Moshiri came out and said that some years back in our own context.

Prudence seems to be a dirty word in football these days, but lessons are learned the hard way.

Big difference between us and Chelsea in what we make though mate, essentially spending what we make is what we did under Bill. Concerning thing is we have huge contract now all around the squad, that will take a few years to work through with high costs, we're getting through them year on year, but we have massively expanded our cost base since Bills time and we all know how tight things were then.

I suspect the intended audience for this statement would be the clubs Chelsea want to buy from this summer.
