He picked up a lot of injuries and couldn't string a run together, when he played i thought he was very good.

I was a bit younger then so may not have known alot but remember thinking he had a bit of quality about him when he played. Fitness and injuries seemed to be his downfall.
Thats my memory to mate, he had quality, woulad plat two or three then be out for four, just couldn’t get a run together - think he would have cost 5.5 mill, was big money for us back then, so we never went for him permanently. He was a good player though agreed.
If my memory is right think he was a centre back but we played him right full mostly. Think it was Roma we got him on loan from.
Couldn't even make the bench on Saturday even though he was fit.
