Payment structure could mean anything, including zero initial payment with a sell-on clause or other such clauses. That would still be a payment structure.

Ye, looks like the only potential way spurs get anything assuming we won’t sign if we have to pay.

For once and for all Everton bought Dele (not loan) from Spurs but for nothing upfront with contingent fees depending on appearances (never met), a sell-on % and (we now know) a fee on contract extension/renewal.

With his contract with us now expired we would have to pay Spurs if we renew his contract. We are attempting to negotiate that away so we can offer him a new contract without paying a fee. Spurs will retain their sell-on clause (increased?) if we do.

It is an unusual deal but it not that hard to understand.

It’s very hard to understand because absolutely nothing about the terms of the deal has been disclosed to the public.

The shrewdest (and also baldest) deal there ever was.

Not officially but every Everton deal is undisclosed so we always have to rely on reporting. The Athletic has spelt this out again today and previously in several articles as has The Echo.

He seems like a nice lad but I can’t believe we’re seriously considering paying him more money. He’s done obscenely well out of the club.

Even now they’re letting him use all the facilities for free.

If this potentially effects Ndiaye playing in his best position it’s a firm no from me.

I get we need a squad, but Dele’s best position imo is the same as Ndiaye.

Could stifle any progress for Ndiaye if he’s then shifted to a wing

If Dom goes though

The hard to understand bit is why we would even bother with this in the first place

Once again Everton showing what a class act we are.
Inferior clubs, who have lost any sense of identity or their true place in the community, would have sent Dele Alli packing months ago.
We are able to rise above things such as money and points / position in this corrupt ‘competition’ that is the EPL, and instead focus on the true meaning of sport, with team work (in its many forms), humanity and old fashioned fair play.
The resigning of Dele should and will be celebrated by all who consider themselves true fans of football.
