Levels based off what though? So you have low expectations for Tarkowski because he was signed for free, but Lukaku level expectations for someone signed for £1.5m? Tarkowski once qualified for Europe in that Burnley team, so why is that not his expectations? As he has done it once, like you...

...I genuinely don't think the following Moyes players would play in a Dyche side. Arteta, Osman, Baines or the young Coleman who first broke through. More alarming is I don't think he'd have ever played Sheedy either... He'd arguably have sat the Lukaku who came on loan behind a DCL also.

I agree to an extent. Asking Dom to score/assist when practically alone on the end of a tarks/pickford 80 yarder to his head while dealing with 2 top class cb's and no runners/support is utterly pathetic management and justifies his wanting out imo.

...comment and weird way to set up a team. Would be different if he had double digit assists each year with the cool little flick ons....wait he doesnt...waste of a position on the field and needed to be upgraded when Lukaku left. Not a goal scorer and doesn't bring teammates into the attack.

So what you are saying is that he is comfortably better than every striker we have had in best part of 8 years or whatever it is. Up until the last 9 months or so, he was very well regarded by any professional I ever heard talk about him. He has gone stale, no question, but that is on the club...

Everton made it easy for him to get picked by every manager when they sold Lukaku and never replaced him. All our eggs were put in this basket and it hasn't worked. Definition of insanity and all that when it comes to picking DCL every week.

Its not just Beto. Im trying to find a justification in thelwell and im struggling. We're still playing a 40yr at fullback. We've needed a decent fullback for a while. In his time here bournemouth have bought a fullback in kerkez who looks great. We in the same time frame paid more for jake...

...from the first club to have been duped by a striker from Seria A for big money, or a big reputation. Scamacca - West Ham Zirkzee - Man Utd Lukaku coming back to Chelsea / Higuain / Morata (though he wasn't that bad, just gone on to have a batter career elsewhere) Jovetic - Man City Not a...

What good does that bit even mean now. 2 goals and we're into 2025 is pathetic. Oh but he cost 1.5m 8 years ago so that makes everything ok lol. We're hovering above the trap door because our supposed main goal getter is on 2 goals. I mean im not that expectant of any player tbh, esp at this...

Sorry mate his wages now surpass that 1.5m outlay it’s no excuse what we paid for him, he’s a first choice premier league striker on 100k per week or there about that’s what he will be judged on. And 20 game runs without a goal is shocking on more than 1 occasion

    2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Over a 250+ game period of time, a 1 in 3 record is rubbish and similar to Carlton Cole’s scoring ratio. He’s just not very good mate. That’s why he still plays for Everton at 28.

    2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It’s not though. It’s about 1 in 3. Which for a 1.5m outlay is pretty good. And most clubs other than the top 4/5 would snatch your hands off for a 1 in 3 striker. We aren’t signing a Lukaku type, he is an outlier in terms of Pl striker for us. Never had one like him before or after.

…agree, there’s absolutely no doubt we need new people in charge of transfers but the window opens tomorrow

Agreed, but it doesn’t mean we can’t. Prior to that we had the likes (under Moyes) of Donovan, Lukaku, Barry, Pienaar. We just need the right talent spotters. I think also loan markets do put a limit on the talent you can acquire (e.g. no on loans out their better players or budding superstars)...

No - he was awful for them and they didn't give him enough time to impress. Thankfully he found a perfect home with us.

...forward yet he strikes a ball like it’s made of cement, and whilst Dycheball is a detriment, he isn’t clinical enough with the chances he does get more often than not. He’s had one season with a decent goal return. Yet it’s everything else that is the issue. Lukaku has never been replaced.

    2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

The need for quality and MN he strike for ve has been known since Lukaku left. Dyche would have been aware when he is as appointed.
