I think him not going with them on tour is a huge indication that we won't be that far apart in a deal

I'm a fan of Sigurdsson. I think this price is probably a bit high, even in this market, but it's refreshing to see us going hell for leather for the manager's targets, hang the cost.

That said, I'm slightly concerned at the overall lack of pace in the team/squad. Bolasie is the only one you'd call rapid, and who knows if he will be when he returns.

A month ago we were a 'laughing stock' for not signing anybody.

I hate our fans.

Not sure why people care what other fans think of us. Utd, Chelsea, City etc have all overspent on players over the years and quite a few of them have turned out to be gash. That's the risk you take when you're being ambitious and trying to get to the top. It's really only the extreme ones like Carroll that people remember and still laugh about years later.

The more i think about it the more I'm ok with the price. Runs all day, genuinely two footed, best dead ball delivery in the league, great passer, scores goals.

That doesn't matter. He's got very good movement and covers a lot of ground intelligently.

That's not my concern with him. He's a good player, not a great one - I want him here, but ideally not replacing a better player in Barkley and not costing the figures quoted for him, which is too much.
