£40m Bid Made For Sigurdsson

5 mill or not
If Swansea aren't budging we will just pay it I imagine after knowing we want him etc. Probably just haggling over how and when.

If this doesn't happen we have wasted weeks probably so it will trust me ;)

Seems like those kind of stats only work for Gylfi.
The ones that show Ross in a good light compared to Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard etc, don't seem to count.
Go figure.

Stats are absolute tosh but if Sigurdsson did for us what he's done for Swansea we'd be looking for closer to Lukaku money than Barkley cash.

From what I read, the addons wer really hard to achieve so unlikely to move by much at all. Not certain at all it's gona end up 90, but I suppose no one knows. I was just talking about initial fees.
From 'what you read' where?
Not sure Rawk or Rawk2 (the BBC) are good sources. Other sources seem to suggest the add-ons are very attainable.

why are people on here saying no re sale? What's wrong with you? What top club buys a player in their prime years with the vision of making a profit? We've got a vast array of good youngsters at the club already, we'll probably sell a couple of those on for a good profit just like we did with lukaku and stones, if that's the kind of thing that floats your boat.

But i'd rather an everton that buys their number one targets and they spend their best career years here. We're not a moneyball club like those loons across the park who have been pretty yoyo over the last couple of years with no success.

We all know the money's stupid. But we paid about £10m too much for pickford, we paid about £10m too much for keane. On the flip we probably got sandro for about £15m-£20m cheaper than we should, rooney £10m. At the end of the day some signings will be overpaid for, some will be a bargain, we've had our fair share of bargains over the years it must be said.

There's not one player currently proven in the premier league that we could buy anywhere near siggurdsson's standard. All the stats prove that, of course we could throw £40m at someone abroad who is possibly a bigger name and MAY provide better success, but is saving that measly extra £5m that some don't want us to pay for siggurdsson worth the risk to get someone from abroad? Not imo, and i don't think that's he opinion of the manager, the staff or the club. We're buying players to make us a solid force on the domestic front first, setting up the base before we start thinking of attracting flashy foreigners who may totally flop in this country.

£20 mill for Fabregas or £50 mill for Gylfi?

50 for Siggy, all day, current ability wise he could be one of the best players we have had for a while
But forget the fee, we have gone after a player we just can't get cheap so are just going to have to deal with it, but a few bargains will balance it out

We are 'buy to sell' and I don't see a problem with that but, transfer fees need to be recouped in that strategy.
Not sure Gylfi, is the type of player that you blow your dough on, to ensure champs league footy.
Top clubs don't do that.

I fail to wrap my head around your Ross B arguments but, now you're saying that ability wise, Gylfi is worth more than double Fabregas?
