£40m Bid Made For Sigurdsson

I just want to get this Siguardsson deal done asap.

As I have said before there is about 1 academy player for every 2/3 years who will make it as a PL footballer I don't see Connolly being one of them.
Can't believe this has been going on since the 13th July and not even a "close to an agreement " statement from Sky.

Hmmm interesting.....I really thought this one would be tied up by now, with Barkley injured and leaving anyway and Dowell going out on loan.

Maybe get the EL game out of the way with what we have first.

Ahh the memories.

Sky presenter: there are reports of a third bid worth £50m - £40m cash, £5m in addons and Callum Connelly (presumeably on a permanent if he's being valued at £5m). Swansea yet to receive this bid.

I'd like to agree and you are probably right, but West Ham's signings have been OK. They have the potential to go either way really. Zabaleta is old but may still do a job and Hernandez could do well there, although I think the lack of quality supplying him may tell. Arnautovic and Hart are both good players on their day but can also have quite a few off days too.

Southampton are a side I don't rate too highly but they still got a to a Cup Final last season and finished 8th. Their league positions over the past 5 years have been almost as high as ours on average.

Expecting 7th at worst but there is a chance that a Leicester or West Ham could potentially get ahead of us if we do not adequately strengthen up front.

West Ham - I expect they will get 10th.

Soton - I do not agree to use their average position in the last couple of years to compare because Koeman was the manager for them for 2 years and we previously got a fraud in charge.

Leicester - one season wonder.

We were 15-17 pts ahead of these teams last season. I honestly can't see any reasons they can catch up. We got a far superior squad.

Would imagine it will either be done or not in the next few days, can't see it happening in the mid to latter part of next week with the season so close.

I imagine Clement must be furious at this stage with the uncertainty, it really is pushing it to reinvest any money and get 2 or 3 signings done in the days before kick-off.
