I guess they need a new fullback, they do have Naughton and Angel Rangel there, but you would hope Connolly can get games off both of them crappers.

I've no idea what the original sauce is for the Connolly talk, but, in my head, I think there's a 62% chance of it being complete tosh.

Yeah I still think it could be hogwash, but the drums certainly appear to be playing his song a lot.

Swansea have us "over a barrel" so to speak, you would think they would aim "higher" than Connolly, with respect to the lad, who it appears will go on to have a decent career, but hes hardly a must buy.

I suppose from Swans POV hes on a smallish wage and he has big potential, hes basically for free considering how much they already spanking us on the fee, better than having to offer good money to somebody LIKE Besic, Robles or somebody a bit more established.

from the sounds of it - in one of his interviews i got the impression he was on Everton's books at some point. I might be wrong. He certainly worked at the club.
I like the show, take it for what it is, a couple of fans talking about the club. They don't speak for everyone but's it can be entertaining.

Similar feelings,

Baz was a ticket guy and well liked round the club, no doubt made friends with people around these deals and can get a feel what rumours are more likely than others

Have to say Clement has seemingly been very reasonable and level-headed throughout all of this. He is caught between all sides. Wonder if his time abroad has made him less "tribal" with regard to domestic transfers, clearly it's higher powers that have been driving a hard bargain on this, but fair play to them.

They are a decent club and losing Sigurdsson pushes them close to the edge in my view, unless they can reinvest quickly and wisely. I hope they can get a few decent players in. Sorry to see Callum go, but if the deal requires it, he has a very good chance of regular football there at a good club.

Will be a real coup for Moshiri if this comes off, not necessarily in terms of the player, but for our new-found determination to do what it takes to land our targets. In terms of the money spent and the commitment shown, this is indeed a new Everton.

I personally suspect that the reason Swansea have prolonged this, is due to the fact that they've probably been lining signings up, so that they aren't left short. I think they'd have liked it to have been done sooner, but that can't be helped.

In regards to Connolly, it'd be a shame to see him go, but i'm still a bit miffed that Martina got a game ahead of Kenny in midweek. It would leave him 4th choice regardless, and I don't think it's fair to stunt his progress. If he wants first team football, and at a premier league level, then good luck, and i'd wish him all the best.

Could see them wanting MCCarthy to replace Cork but he'd be on a good wedge so it could be a difficult one to throw in.

I'm trying to appear ITK here mate, don't ruin it with insisting on me backing it up with facts !

Nah, I think he'll want to go for the Premier League record appearances, and he's still good enough to do that. I also think he'll want to cement his place at the top of the Premier League booking chart to make sure it's pretty much unassailable. This will be helped by the fact that he'll be playing less, so won't need to worry about getting banned quite so quickly.

One of my managers who is a massive Swansea fan just text this:

Real hostillity building up back home against Everton. We stated our asking price on day 1 of enquiries and fiddling about trying to negotiate has completely [Poor language removed] up our pre-season plans. People getting very angry now, it's got to put up or shut up time I think

We've made it, we're finally a bully club!lol
