Are we seriously keeping this thread open until deadline day? Just closed it now and discussion can continue on the summer transfer thread. I think it is quite clear that our business transfer activity is over until the sale of another player which might not happen anyway until deadline day. Let's focus on our current squad and hope that we have enough for at least top 7.

the fact that we are probably trying to negotiate the fee with Swansea in one million instalments...believe me if we had the money we would have just paid the 50 mil no question ask. Same as city had done for walker and co. Just concentrate on our squad and hope that we have 1 or 2 youngsters coming through this year to have somebody to sale next year.

We aren't City though mate, we don't have an oil state backing us, and going out and spending 50m on a player is something I wouldn't want us to do too hastily, without proper thought and it being 100% right for us.

That said, this has dragged on a bit and I can see why people are bemused by it.

One thing that concerns me that this has rumbled on for over a month now is that the lad has had very little competitive football and will not be training with the same intensity even if he is still training with the first team at Swansea (same as when you want to leave a job you don't give 100% to the company you are leaving do you).

So it will be about a month before he is up to scratch, a waste of a month if you ask me.
