“The Negativity From The Fans Doesn’t Affect The Players”

Speaking from ignorance of social media (and much else besides), I have a vague idea that whatsapp is safe as only people you know get to see what you write. Facebook is not safe because they spread what is written as it suits them. So stay off Facebook so if Salah stays off it he can't read abusive messages. Can't that apply to all other messaging thingys? Apart from suggesting "vulnerable" millionaires and famous people stay away from social media, another question from my ignorant position, how come people know your social media link/address/ID unless you show it?

This game is a good example, personally I'm content with that first half as I understand how drained we are after Spurs.
But going off now with a full house would be a booing competition and a group of stressed players scared to come back out.

It's a two way street. Our fans are unnecessarily negative at times, especially during the course of a match, but it's nigh on impossible for fans to be positive when players don't give their best on the pitch like happened last night.

We need a crowd back at Goodison. But that's no excuse for players to decide they don't want to run, tackle or head.

This took all of 2 minutes to age as badly as it always looked like it would.

Anyone on 100k + per week should be able to accept criticism for not doing their job to an acceptable standard.

As for the fans, yeah that myth can be dispelled based on most of the home performances this season

What has the wage got to do with it?

Bigbadjeff saying 'you are crap and a waste of space' in Twitter is hardly a constructive criticism.

Nothing really

But it will always be an issue that's brought up when highly paid players don't put in effort. Football is one of the only professions where you can be rewarded with astonishing wealth while failing in your job every week

I genuinely think a lot of footballers don't even think (or maybe even know) about how much money they are on, it's just the way it is.

There seems to be anger in football regarding wages more than any other profession. Actors can get away with being crap but footballers seem to get the 'wage shame' as soon as anything goes wrong. There are plenty of other sports where the athletes are highly paid and I don't hear people moaning. Is it because football is a more of a working class sport? I dunno.

I'm not saying they are immune to criticism, but the wage argument is pointless.

Robbie Savage said something about it, he got completely lambasted for saying it, but what he said was right.

We have some of the worst fans around, when we lose a game or 2. Its horrible.

Social media just magnifies that massively.

We have a pop at kopites when they lose a game, and laugh at them, but look at this site and twitter when we lose, or a certain player has a couple of off games, its embarrassing.
