He was great Inchy,a real pest to opposition defences closing down defenders,buzzing about,Brock down at Oxford summed up what Inchy was all about IMHO.

Don't think he ever got any England caps did he? Was that through injury or just too much competition in them days?
 
Another important player that season who hasn't been mentioned so far, Dave Watson. Think we signed him the day before the season began.

Walked straight into the first team due to Derek Mountfield's injury, and was really ropey for a while, but then settled well and became an important player that season.

Obviously, his status as an Everton legend isn't in doubt, and was built over a decade with us...but our last title winning season was his first for us.

Bit of both I think Billy,there was talk of him being called up before Marwood did him,he should have had a few caps when you consider some of the jokers who got them IMHO.
 

Serious injuries to souhhall reid sharp van den hauwe and stevens.bracewell didn't play a single game.we won the league against all the odds that year and it proved what a brilliant manager howard kendall was.his finest hour in my opinion
