2023/2024 Kits Thread

Sorry, I havent read the whole thread, but is the announcement vid not meant to, well, announce the kit?

/Sigh.

It's not hard mate - my point is the club and/or merch partners should tell people (fans and all media) when the kit will be released. Even if just a day or two.

It would get more attention, and undoubtedly more coverage.

I know when Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd's etc kit is going to be unveiled, why not Evertons? This isn't revolutionary of anything different - it was always a thing. Kitbag, Fanatics or whoever would email/instruct when it was going to be released. The club would tease the release etc.

I always thought they prefer it to go under the radar and just be HERE IS THE KIT.

Is that not the point of these vids?

I mean theres a lot of talk on social media regarding the kit, so it looks to me like its had its desired effect?

Knowing Everton, and I'm being entirely serious here, it's possibly to account for any potential delay or other farcical event that occur to delay the release.

If you set a date, even a day or two before, you have to abide by that or look silly. If you release it discretely, there's no backlash and it provides flexibility.

The home kit was released on a Thursday, while this has been a Friday, so you can't even look at a specific day of the week or whatnot for retail reasons.

Horrible
Amber shirts round collar and blue shorts and amber socks
Then we might win something instead of fighting relegation in silly kits
I'm all in favour of Amber shirts, it's obviously a generational thing but I have never properly associated yellow shirts with Everton. That said, I quite like this away kit, think they should have used that collar design for the home shirt as well.

I wish my whole marketing strategy for all my clients in the day job could just be "we've got a video".

There's definitely less coverage of the away kit this year - if people like me who run a fan site are caught unaware, then a lot who aren't dedicated to Everton but would usually carry coverage will be and if you're late, it's not news anymore, it's just an ad. We're small fish, but becoming aware of the release at 10 past 9, even I haven't bothered to update the site or social media with it.

Probably right Phil - did consider that which is why I said even just a day or so notice.

I'm of the view that clubs should treat kit unveilings as exciting - tell fans when it's going to be unveiled, create an event for the unveiling etc.
