2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

we’re not out of the woods yet, but that was a good weekend. 4 points, at least 9gd and a game in hand over our rivals.

The confidence yet again I think from the weekend is the team will dig out results at Goodison when it is critically needed. Leicester is another big game but they're in horrific form so I'd fancy scoring at least two and keeping Vardy quiet.

It's important as not sure there's enough about the team even under Moyes to expect much away apart from a few 0-0s/1-1s. Really interested to see how Moyes plays Brighton but I suspect it will be back to low block and that is understandable as would be a very good 4 points from Spurs-Brighton.

Is Wolves’ new manager bounce over with now, or are they still gonna go on that 10 game win streak?

The bounce has given them a chance. Nothing more, nothing less as they were dead and buried under O'Neil just like this season was heading for disaster if giving Dyche another five or so games.

I think it's a bit unfair writing them off just because they've lost to the likes of Forest and Newcastle and Chelsea away.

They still have left to play at home this season: Fulham, Everton, West Ham, Spurs, Leicester, Brighton and Brentford on the final day. I'd say that's the best home run in of any team down there. Whether they'll actually be good enough to win four of those games is another question.

And away they have Southampton, Ipswich and Palace as their last away who'll have little to play for.

I think they can still get to around 34 points personally as they can score goals and will surely get in another CB before the window is over as them playing Matt Doherty there is a bit of a handicap at present.

I'm really interested to see how Pereira does. A good mate is Brazilian and a massive Flamengo fan. He swears Pereira has as much managerial talent as Mike Walker. Fingers crossed he's right!

I know he's poached a few goals for them but Strand Larsen is genuinely one of the slowest CFs I've seen in the premier league for about a decade.

At least when they're bothered DCL and Beto can at least get away from a defender if they've got a yard start. Strand Larsen simply can't outrun anyone so all the through balls go to waste.

Doubt they'll keep the back 5 for those home games aswell. I do think their two CMs are pretty decent in winning the ball so they need another one in there and go 4-3-3 once they get shot of Lemina.

Look to have enough about them to give it a go to stay up, badly need players at the back, going forward they do well but that defence, needs adding to, Keane would do a job for them

Maybe do what villa have done not sure what his buy back is but if a decent price. Could make a decent profit on him
It be ultimately down to Delap if he wants to go back which I highly doubt he would be keen on being used as a pawn for City to make more money out of him. Difference with Philogene was that he must have thought he would get more game time than he did

In fairness, Chris Wood must be amongst the slowest centre forwards in Premier League history and he's scored about 98 goals this season so far. Slow doesn't always mean appalling, just depends what you've got around you and the tactics of the team.

Another good result for us last night..... of course most importantly we need to do our part.

Let's start to join the pack above and create space between us and the bottom 4 in the next 2-3 games!

Looking at the next few games for all of the teams below us I would be surprised if they pick up any more than 1-2 points in that time, or maybe 3 in the case of Ipswich as they play Southampton.

Bottom five will remain as it is I think. I don"t see us finishing any higher but we can finish well clear of the drop, we have a chance of that and it's all that matters. Every game is still a big game and particularly at home.
Personally think palace, West Ham and Brentford are all catchable. Not saying we will but think we could.

I expect spurs and man United to turn it round at some point as the quality in their squads will eventually tell.

Ensuring we maximise the home games (beating Leicester, Ipswich, saints, West Ham while hopefully picking up a couple of points vs Liverpool, man United, city and arsenal).

Don’t see us being fantastic away, but can certainly take points from Brentford, Fulham, palace and wolves.
