2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

In fairness, Chris Wood must be amongst the slowest centre forwards in Premier League history and he's scored about 98 goals this season so far. Slow doesn't always mean appalling, just depends what you've got around you and the tactics of the team.

He's one of that guys that balances it out with a very good instict and experience.

Potentially a huge weekend.

Currently 4 points (plus a positive goal difference) out of the bottom 3 with a game in hand. Ipswich have to win 2 more games than us (or win 1 and draw 2) in 16 games, having only won 3 in 22, to overtake us.

If Chelsea do the business’s tomorrow, Wolves are in the same position as Ipswich.

Nothing's a given in football, but both Wolves and Ipswich winning 2 more games than us isn’t likely.

We have a half decent fixture list between now and the end of Feb. Let’s make the most of it and leave Ipswich and Wolves to fight it out.

We were the only team in the bottom 8 to not lose this weekend which is fantastic for us.

A tough fixture away at Brighton next, but then we have 3x home games and 2x 'winnable' away games in February. A great opportunity to really kick on now and pull ourselves away.

I'm just wary now because of Dyche. We have had opportunities in the past where we have on paper and easy run and we have crumbled. Just want to look at each game as it comes and make sure we don't leave anything in the tank once we have left the pitch. I'm confident Moyes will make sure of that.

It is, but it's also not one we can afford to pass up, its far too close for comfort still. Need to be winning bare minimum 2 of those games, if not 3. Otherwise we are in deep sh1t still, given the fixtures we have to come after that.

And this too. Was a nauseating cycle when we got a very rare bit of hope to push on, we immediately went backwards.

I'm not expecting us to go to Brighton and win but I've faith Moyes will improve the mentality.

The good thing about having Moyes in charge now is that his aim is to win every game which means that we can now have a chance of winning against literally anyone depending how it goes on the day. Obviously we will lose plenty as there is tons of work to be done and the squad needs improving massively but it is so refreshing compared to Dyche and his negative try and scrape a draw mentality. I am enjoying watching Everton again and i am optimistic that he will steer us away from relegation fears.

Agreed. We would have tried to draw both games against Spurs and Villa and likely end up losing both. Perhaps get a point in each in a best case scenario. Moyes goes for a win in both and we lose one and get a win in the other. 3 points instead of the 2 Dyche would have gone for.

Yeh April is a bit minging, with May looking favourable but I don't think any of us want to be going into May still needing results to be safe.
