2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Some people acting like we are a moyes team of old. We still have a very poor side. We beat Tottenham who were awful as proven again today and Brighton we stole a win by all accounts through a penalty when we were going away from goal and did nothing else all game. To think we will just easily beat Leicester is laughable.

We need to win and with Moyes we have a better chance, but this is a very dodgy game that we can easily lose.
We could lose it but there are 15 more games after next week, it’s not a final day battle. I don’t think Moyes, the coaches or the players will be getting carried away.

We were 1 point above the relegation zone last Sunday before the Spurs game so to be 7 above the bottom 3 just a week later is great but the job isn’t done yet and as I said, I don’t think anyone at the club will be thinking that it is.

For me, win against Leicester makes relegation extremely unlikely. Two of those four sides are not going to gain nine points on us.

But at the same time, I don’t think a defeat sucks us back into it because there are four teams below us, not three.

In simple terms, the last two wins means that I won’t have to watch this from behind the couch and what will be will be

What is going to help us next week is that Leicester have to get a run of wins and up till a couple of weeks ago they would have had us down as a game they could get 3 points in. Now they will have to have a go at us and that may leave us with a chance to get into them early like v Spuds and bag another important win with the derby on the horizon.

The worst case scenario next week is losing to Leicester and Ipswich beating Southampton. Even then the gap is four points with a far superior GD.

Only real danger now is losing 3-4 in a row before the very tough April period but I trust enough from what I've seen in last 7 days the team can be solid and nick results against all of Leicester, Palace, Brentford, Man. United, Wolves and West Ham.

RS is the only game I've written off but as we saw last season on the night you never know especially on set plays.

Agreed. It's a very big game in that we can build a very hefty cushion over them, but if we don't win - while undeniably a bad result and worrying - we still have a cushion and hopefully a reaction from it.

Will very happily take an awful scrappy 1-0, albeit clearly I want us to be on the front foot and really go for it.
