2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

We're not out of this at all, but these two wins have been extremely welcome and we need to build on this, especially against Leicester next.

We need to, at a minimum, maintain this gap up until April where a nightmare run of fixtures awaits us - probably with a threadbare squad.

If we can be 8+ points clear of 18th with a much stronger goal difference going into Liverpool away on April 3rd then I'll be satisfied, but I think we can do better than that.

Thankfully Ipswich, Leicester and Wolves have no gimmes in April plus there are a few clashes between each other in April too.

Agree with that, although regarding injuries, by the time we get to April, those currently injured are probably back by then. It just becomes a question of if any, or many pick up an injury in the meantime

We could have a situation next week where both Leicester and Ipswich gain 3 points on us. So it's a massive game. Expect Ipswich will win and I don't think we'll lose. All we can do is win our own game. We are in the driving seat.

It's over the next 10 games we have to cement and build the gap if possible. I don't think we'll be mathematically safe with 5 games remaining but we should aim to be as good as.

I've had a thought about how we can avoid relegation even if we're deep in the mire in the final games.

I know the club cannot dictate which players are available for the opposition, but as a private business Everton Football Club is fully allowed to dictate who may and may not enter its premises. The club does not even need to give a reason for denying entry to Goodison Park.

Think of it like a casino - if you're a particularly good player you'll get security escorting you out of the premises in no time as you're taking too much money off them. You can moan all you like, but that will only make it worse for you. If they notice you approaching next time, they are fully in their rights to tell you you are not allowed to enter the casino at all, and if you do then you are trespassing and can then be arrested by the police as that is illegal.

Our final three home games of the season are City, Ipswich and Southampton, surely the club could just ban a handful of each team's best players and thus give itself a huge advantage in each game. A quick email to Sheikh Mansour would do it for City: "Dear Mr Mansour, this is notice that the following players are no longer permitted to enter the premises of Goodison Park, L4 4EL in Liverpool: Haaland, Manoush, De Bruyne, Ederson, Dias, Savinho. Should any of these individuals be found to have entered the premises, the police will be called to immediately escort them away. Warm regards, Daniel Friedkin."

I am surprised nobody has thought of this before.
I'm not.

I think 30 points will be the safe marker this season, a bad run (or current bad run continuing) and other results not going the way they want and any 1 of these teams could end up back in the bottom 3, be funny if Spurs or Utd or both got relegated though
