2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

It’s handy that Ipswich, Leicester and Wolves are so closely bunched together and we’ve got the ten point gap from 18th

This run from Moyes has been so important

Big time - it's always been about us. If we look after ourselves, what other teams do is irrelevant and that's played out over the last month.

The gap between us and the bottom 3 as things stand is huge, in terms of the fact we're not far off being out of sight to them, but also in terms of the 'mental positive'. How often did people say last season that the points deduction led to us going into games with unfair/unnecessary extra pressure which probably negatively impact our performances and therefore results? The gap we have means we don't have that pressure now.

One thing you can say about us in recent survival seasons is that we’ve managed to maintain control of our own destiny

We’ve essentially “won” our survival rather than being fortunate that other results have helped us out

That’s been a change from the 1990’s at least, where it was less a case of us staying up under our own power and more us surviving because other sides slipped up (Blades in 94, Bolton in 98)

He's saved the club as far as im concerned. We had that relegation look going right through us.
Apart from keane i dont think there is a player not delighted Dyche has gone.

Dyche just looked bereft of ideas and was probably emotionally fried from working at such a dysfunctional club (I know I felt that way just from being a supporter)

Moyes has come in and had a look at everything with a fresh set of eyes, and now we’re doing things smarter and more efficiently

One thing I will say for Dyche was that he at least kept the GD respectable compared to our relegation rivals

We’re on -3 currently whilst Leicester have -28

Moyes will hopefully have us in positive GD soon if things continue to go well

4 wins and we're safe. bottom 3 aren't getting above 38 points

tbh it could be 2 wins and a draw. i cant see them getting above 32
The bottom three would need to improve their run rate to get above 28 points let alone 38.

Moyes is saying all the right things about complacency and obviously we want to make it mathematically safe as soon as possible but we’re not just miles clear points wise we’re miles clear ability wise from those bottom three.

No sympathy with that bit. Ive had it for 50 years unpaid lol.

I actually think we’ve got a better chance of beating Man United than we do beating Palace right now

If you told me that it’d be a draw tomorrow and a win next week, then I’d take it quite happily
Absolutely. If we can cross the 30 point threshold in the next couple of weeks then we’re almost over the line and can look forward to the remaining fixtures knowing we can finish comfortably mid table all being well.

We are safe as houses
