2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

….50-1 with PP if anybody still thinks it’ll happen.

Just thinking of all the RS who took that pre-season 40-1 offer for them to win the PL and us to get relegated. They were sitting pretty on those vouchers 3 weeks ago.

We wouldn't have needed to draw our way out of this season's relegation race. The bottom 3 are stubbornly resistant to revival.

We were on 17 points with a game in hand on those below us when he was sacked. Six games later we'd have still been out of the relegation zone if we'd won none of them...which we would have.
Now I want Dyche to be manager of one of the bottom three and then relegate them.

Can we rename this the battle for mid table obscurity thread?

30 points is easy enough for safety - hoping for a draw between today between United and Spurs so we go into next Saturday a point clear in battle for 13th.

The bottom 3 have barely improved their points tally in the last 6 league games, they’re still on 17 points ! Ipswich have fallen off a cliff form wise, at one point they looked a threat for staying up but now they don’t look like they’ll win another game. Wolves probably have enough about them to finish ahead of them, it’s looking like the promoted teams to go down once again.

I’m absolutely ecstatic at this result more so than Wednesday, what a job Moyes and his staff have done, with what were relegation fodder when he came,
We’re nearly there, 2 more wins will nail it, hopefully this could be the end of an era of tedious, pathetic backs to the wall football.
Please banish the name’s Allardyce, Benitez and Dyche to the worst period in our history, never utter them again.
Yes me too, workmanlike but I honestly wondered if we would be too tired to get anything after Wednesday. My head was hoping for a draw but to get the win was huge.
I would have the ginger Dutchman on the top of my Managers list, even more so than Benitez. I can't even bring myself to type his name and I quite like the Dutch, but he made my blood boil

Fantastic win last night. It’s the kind of result good sides get. Played poorly in large parts, down to bare bones and still nicked it.

I’m getting desperate.. get Moyes on the blower.

Ipswich score goals ! We struggle to score

Ipswich are coming for the relegation scraping crown !

We are right in it… again.

Only positive for me is that cant hide away from the need of new players need to be added into this team. With pace and attacking threat

Bang in the mix again.

Not vaulting but a selection of sentiments from the end of last year.

Bugger me does it look and feel a heck of a lot rosier now. Bonus shout out to @Del-boy, he called it getting the Moyesiah in.

If you believe we'd have still been on 17 points 6 games later with Dyche still in charge you need to give your head a wobble. We'd been averaging pretty much a point a game up until that point.

17 points from 19 games is not a point a game. We were on track for 34 points, we’re now on track for 45. We were also scoring under a goal per game and are now averaging 2 goals per game. You are insane or pig headedly stubborn if you’re incapable of acknowledging that this manager has improved us overnight from walking through the door.

Obviously not the most important thing, but Merson and Sutton both predicted a Palace win in their weekly predictions column.

So sniff it the pair of ya, particularly Sutton, who never has a nice word to say about us in print, or when he’s co-commentator etc.
