2024/25 Relegation Thread

We're pretty much banking on Leicester, Ipswich, and Southampton being absolutely terrible and not really winning any games until January. If we can get to 19 games played and not be in the bottom three, I'll be more confident. At the moment, it looks very nervy indeed.

Ipswich have Palace at home next. Leicester will probably get a bounce if they make a quick appointment as they have West Ham and Wolves at home before Xmas.

I know this strategy worked last season but thinking every season the three promoted teams are going to be complete rubbish is doomed to fail as some seasons they won't, Ipswich just taken 4 points from Spurs-Man. United so they're growing in confidence at this level and I think they'll pass 30 points now.

Yeah we’ll go there and treat them as if they’re Pep’s Barca, and will have lads on here telling us we can’t expect to compete with them because they’ve spent loads. Ipswich, who still have League 1 players in their team, had them on the ropes and should’ve beat them.

Different to playing them at Old Trafford to Goodison. I certainly expect to be competitive at home to them in the run in though. Dyche if he's somehow still here certainly won't be getting a free pass from me for that game.

Other than Southampton, all those below us have as much if not more quality than Everton and lack the negativity around their clubs we have. We’re only 2 points clear with an awful run coming. If we’d have been six clear then maybe we could have been clear by Jan but it’ll take a miracle for us not to be next to bottom by start of the transfer window.

Looks a bit more hairy with Ipswich starting to get a bit of confidence and Leicester sacking their hapless manager.

Even Southampton are playing better than their results but they can't defend. A new manager bounce might lift them.

He shouldn't be getting a free pass next week, either.

United are a poor side. If he actually set a team up to have a go, he might snatch something. But he'll cling on for a 0-0 and find himself losing to goals by the referee, VAR, and the ghost of Anthony Martial.

Southampton are gone imo, new manager won't save them.

The other two spots are very much open though. In denial if you're watching Wolves and Ipswich in recent weeks and not seeing big improvement in confidence and mentality. Palace messed up by playing Wharton and Eze in the cup and losing them injured but again dug out a decent point at Villa yesterday. They do have a tough schedule up to New Year but they did beat Spurs at home recently.

I don't think it's looking good at all in the short term and then we see what happens.

I was going to say aswell, Roma losing currently and they are well in the bottom half so clearly the Friedkin group have made lots of errors there in last 18 months. Anyone thinking they'll come in and get every single key decision right from day one may be disappointed as they're about to sack a manager who's only been there two months.

You sure the general mentality going to West Ham who were bang out of form. That was a winnable away game as was Southampton obviously so can't see where all out attack at Man. United is going to come from.
It'll come from United.

We're getting a hiding next week - not because United are any good, but because our players are gutless and our manager will set them up in the manner of a coward.

We have big problems and they grow by the game.
