2024/25 Relegation Thread

Those next games are must wins for all three teams it will not be easy.
They have some good players but that defending was poor they didn't have s clue.
That manager can't last going off last night.
No matter how these go., these teams will get damaged playing each other. We need to keep our heads down and concentrate on Everton FC in the games this month, and really try to get something from them.

To lose all of them would put us right down in the mire..

To pick up 3 or 4 points would be a major boost to morale on and off the pitch.

If TFG binned Dyche off immediately, Wolves will offer him a route right back into management imo.

It'll be interesting to see what West Ham and Wokves do in the next week or so, along with what decision TFG make regarding the immediate future of Dyche.

Great win, can't fault anything tonight and the bonus is it makes it like Sunday never happened with the GD drop from that being cancelled out.

Still not out of the woods by a long way. Wolves will surely sack Gary O'Neill soon and their next three are West Ham, Ipswich and Leicester so lose the next three and they won't be far off.

Need to start getting a decent run at home again. I know it's unbeaten since August which is a decent achievement but the performances haven't been great and it's been too many draws against beatable opposition so hopefully tonight is the turning point in mentality.

It will need to be with those who are visiting in the next month.

Nowhere near out the woods. Our wins have come against 3 of the current bottom 4. Brentford last night. Dispatched by an out of form villa. Their only point still away from home. Everton. Southampton havent followed up their only win this season. against Everton.
We should be on minimum 19 points now in preperation for dec and jan fixtures.
Id be a lot more comfortable if we were sitting 10 points clear of the bottom 3. Which is exactly where we should be.

We still need our new owner confirmed, a new manager (one that isn't utterly brain-dead would be a step in the right direction at least!) and a bit of investment in the Jan transfer window if we want to guarantee survival. Yes last night was a massive boost and a big step in the right direction but still, Wolves WILL sack their manager and possibly get a bounce based on who they replace him with. On the face of it, we're a touch better than the worst this league can offer but that's no guarantee.

I think the issue for Wolves is that they had such a difficult start and lost all their games that you'd expect them to lose, the defence lost all confidence. The games they've got poitin they've still conceded goals, and that then puts too much pressure on the front players to score as they know they'll concede. I'm not sure O'Neill can sort it, which is a shame as I like him and there aren't enough young home grown managers at the top level

As for us, we need to scramble a couple of points before Christmas, but that might be a big ask.

People will say fixture order doesn't matter because you play everyone anyway but it really does. Once your behind the pack it really affects how your team approaches games and the mentality/confidence of the players and manager. Suddenly a winnable game becomes vital and edgy if you lose.
We saw last season how cagey we played due to the points deductions, when in reality we should have been nowhere near the drop and playing more confidently, suddenly every minor mistake on pitch was amplified.

Our next four games are utterly terrifying

It was essential that we won last night with those fixture’s upcoming

Yep. Delighted with the win but if anyone thinks that's got us out of trouble they're off their rocker. We are in deep trouble with the fixtures coming up, and obviously due to how pathetic we've been since the Ipswich win and totally messing up the supposedly nice run of games.

Last night was pivotal to give us a chance of not being in the bottom 3 going into the new year, because without it we there wasn't any doubt in my mind we would have been. Hopefully we can nab an unexpected win from somewhere before Christmas.

I was dreading the Wolves match last night as I though they would give it a good go due to there league position. Strange thing is we can sometimes raise our game vs the better clubs especially at home, we lets hope they do anyway as don't expect anything at all vs Arsenal or Man City.
