2024/25 Relegation Thread

Yep I don't believe in "six pointers" this early in the season, but that was as close to one as you'll get, so nice to win. Don't have a great deal of confidence for Saturday though, although you never know.
I think it was a 6 pointer tbh. We were 1 point adrift if we lost but finished 5 clear so there was a genuine 6 point swing.

Wolves are going to be down there in the relegation battle so are definitely a direct rival. You can't lose home games to direct relegation rivals.

Our next four games are utterly terrifying

It was essential that we won last night with those fixture’s upcoming
It was 100% gives them a different look then withbus being in the bottom 3 and chances to increase it. Is going to be a tough run now and will really show what the team has in it. Hopefully can see more back to join the squad likes of garner tim ect so we can help rotate the players.

Nowhere near out the woods. Our wins have come against 3 of the current bottom 4. Brentford last night. Dispatched by an out of form villa. Their only point still away from home. Everton. Southampton havent followed up their only win this season. against Everton.
We should be on minimum 19 points now in preperation for dec and jan fixtures.
Id be a lot more comfortable if we were sitting 10 points clear of the bottom 3. Which is exactly where we should be.

This in a nutshell. No one has outright said it but again a win (which was great) and there is underlying tone from a few to lock this thread as how is relegation even possible after last night?

In November 2022 Leicester came to Goodison and strolled to a 2-0 win. Tielemans hit a volley from outside the box to open the scoring that night. Leicester looked like they'd stroll clear of the bottom three but it never happened so it's a long six months ahead.

5 point gap now so I'd say a target should be to stay 4-5 points clear of 18th going into 2025. Do that and far more reason to be optimistic for second half of the season.

The main takeaway from yesterday for me is that Wolves are genuine relegation contenders. I was worried they were in a false position, and thought they were turning a corner and would pull away, but my word they are absolutely shocking.

Wolves somehow made us look decent, so they are definitely down.

I felt sorry for their fans; massive away support only to be fed sh**e, it reminds me of us...

Such a relief to be going into this tough run of games 5 points above the relegation zone and hopefully we will have new owners very soon.
I think we are in a false position, in reality we should be at least 6 points better off, holding onto a 2-0 lead should be routine for any PL team, this was on poor management... Win those 2 games and we'd be on 20 points level with spurs and all jizzing ourselves.

The whole season has been poor management which is why i am relieved that the RS cannot put us in the relegation zone and TFG will definitely get rid of the clown not long after they are in.

History tells us we can, and have on a regular basis!
