2024/25 Relegation Thread

Sarr looking the business, great finish v Arsenal.

Mateta, Sarr and Eze is too good to get relegated and Palace are fine at the back aswell.

Good test of the new ownership is to have that type of quality in the front 3 in 18 month's time. Probably going to need a new manager aswell to get that type of quality.
Was a great finish. Not the best defending for it

Palace taken 7 points from Spurs, Villa and Brighton in last ten. Give them a run of bottom half teams and they'll be well clear. Mateta and Sarr starting to click upfront.

Eze injured again though, really don't get why they kept playing him in the cup. Would be like starting Branthwaite in the league cup and then he pulls up and is out for another two months.
I doubt they’ll go down as I said but until they actually get the wins and put points on the board, I wouldn’t rule them out. I remember people ruling Leicester out a couple of seasons ago saying they’d be fine with Vardy etc. and they couldn’t get any run together and went down.

They are getting points and wins on the board now, that's the point. I forgot they also got a draw off Man. City although that looks more two points dropped with every terrible performance they put in.

Losing to Arsenal dosen't really matter just as losing to Chelsea dosen't really matter tomorrow. Need to pick up far more points against mid table teams in second half of the season but worry is most of those games are away.

January is very hard.

Bournemouth away is a real jinx fixture and they're a comfortable mid table team. Haven't beaten Spurs or Villa at Goodison in ageeeeesssss. Dyche has generally a very good record at Brighton but again you can't be sure of getting a result there with some of their results this season.

It does feel like Forest is a must win but far far harder to win than Wolves was for obvious reasons.

Dyche dosen't win any of the next six and he's getting sacked, I think everyone is pretty clear on what the new guys are going to be all about so long winless winter runs are not going to be tolerated this time.
If he gets the next 6 games without a win before being sacked there’s something seriously wrong. As that would be the end of Jan and the end of the transfer window.

We waited too long with both Benitez and Lampard. He needs at least a win in the next 3 in my view.

Would be in total 1 win in 13 so no chance whatsoever he'd be surviving. I think defeats to Forest and Bournemouth would be him done as then you appoint someone else and there's still three weeks of the transfer window open.

Man City have now lost 9 of their last 12 games.

Dare we look at that game with a little confidence or will it be normal service, whereby Everton hand a struggling side a confidence boosting win?

We've all been here before

Boxing day around 2.30.

"They're a world class side and it was only a matter of time until they got back to winning ways"

Mr S Dyche.
