2024/25 Relegation Thread

i said this yday december is brutal i don’t expect a thing and we always have injury’s that time

we NEED a gap to be above the bottom 3 in jan

January isn't great either. Bournemouth away which is a massive mental block ground for this team then homes to Villa and Everton within four days (neither have lost at Goodison in ages) and then Brighton away although tend to do better down there than at home to them.

Winning yesterday was great but what gets mid table is back to back wins and then runs like 4 wins in 6 which we had this time last year.

It is possible with the fixture list as I fancy the chances of a win v Fulham much more with Joachim Andersen suspended. Southampton away should be another win similar to yesterday and West Ham might be in crisis mode when going there.

Everton was gifted with an opening run of games to start the season. Two wins from eight games - TWO WINS FROM EIGHT GAMES - and there is belief that Sean Dyche is on the right track and we are going to be okay? What? Huh?

Has anyone even bothered to look at the December run?

Man U
Wolves
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Man City
Notts Forest

7 games. Almost 1/5th of the season. How many points we getting from that?

This team is in big, big trouble.

Last season it was 9 points from that run of opponents so anything like that haul again and team would be well clear of the bottom three.

Well overdue a home win v Wolves but see if they've improved when that fixture comes around. I think Forest at home will be a tough fixture but they're a bit like Brentford really, give awkward games to most clubs in the division yet Dyche teams tend to match up very well against them home and away.

We received 9 points from those games last season. We win against Wolves and Forest, probably Manchester United and can pick up points in the others.

I'm also not sure our fixtures have been so kind. We have played Brighton, VIlla, Newcastle and Spurs who will all be top 8 if not top 6.

Far too early to say yet. None of Everton Palace Brentford Wolves Ipswich Leicester Southampton Bournemouth Forest are good enough to put on a consistent run of form that will guarantee that a bad run of form wouldn’t put them straight back in trouble.

Its far more likely that any of those teams lose 4 in a row than it is win 4 and as losing run of that kind puts a team right back into a mess.

Its why it’s so important to keep getting draws when not playing well, just keep grinding points as it all makes a difference.

The amount of times on these threads though you read people say ‘x team are gone’ only for them to go on a winning streak and come right back into it whilst a team who looked out of it find themselves being sucked in.
