2024/25 Relegation Thread

I'm not sure he does have the fans, Rob...

I'm not sure intelligent fans have the stomach for being treated like idiots by this club and its owners once more, Rob.

Another collapse at Goodison and the fans will turn on him massively imo, makes it a huge decision for those upstairs then.

We've seen Textor's comments aswell last week, I think he steps in before too long and just tells the tea lady or whoever to sack him as ultimately it should be his plaything in two months so you can't just sit on your hands and do nothing even if you're not officially in charge.

Sick to death of people talking about the fixtures we’ve had. They’ve not been easy obviously, but we haven’t even played the likely 3 best teams in the league for a start. How many games are we going to write off exactly?!
Ipswich have already played City and the RS for example. And got a draw at this apparently amazing Brighton team we got whipped by.

More positive after yesterday and well he does have some big choices to make now at rb cb and the cm for me now. Rb i have no idea what the fitness is on coleman/patterson so most likely young. Cb has to be branthwaite if he is fit enough, then lastly i would prob drop tim for now has been good but just feel is alot of pressure and with garner/gana working last season id try again. Also feel tim could be a great sub for the mcneil role being the 3 rd cm pushing forward. Was a hard defeat again but well massive week now and we have to fight and get the points if not then the club has to make a choice imo.

Played ourselves into the mess big time.

Palace will be ok, same with Bournemouth and Fulham.

Here we are hoping for 3 worse teams yet again, let’s hope Ipswich, Leicester, and a few more are in the mix with us, which hasn’t really changed since last season, but the real frustration with the manager and players is it could have been so much more/less pressure than what we’ve put ourselves under now.

Sick of the next games massive feeling too, and bored of the excuses for dross.

The concern I have is that we've been here before. Id be very surprised if he becomes our owner in the foreseeable future, never mind in enough time to make decisions like that

If we carry on with this manager, we're going down. I know it's early. Last time out 'it's only 3 games'. Now it'll be 'it's only 4 games'. I know there's apparently no stomach to change the manager according to the club. Yes we did start poorly last season and Dyche got us to 48 points. Even with a 4 month run without a win. Put like that 48 points is a good achievement. Of course we can recover. I just get that feeling we're stuck. Like a broken record. There's only one way to change that.

Negative. Big worry: Leicester probably have far more about them than the three that came up last year. Ipswich look like they've got a fight in them in the same way Luton did, but will still struggle to hit 40+ points.

Positive. If we play the way we did in the last two games, we will probably pick up quite a lot of points. Add Branthwaite to the last two games and we probably get 4 points minimum.

Actually thought we were terrible yesterday. We scored our goals out of nothing (Martinez has to do far better with both) and that performance on another day will get a pasting

In fairness, Villa are very good. Should have beaten Arsenal the other week. Encouraging to score twice. And should have score two others.

The goal leaking is concerning and Dyches poor in-game management.

From game to game you can see that problems only dawn on him very slowly - e.g. Keane isn't adequate in his preferred system.

We've been circling the drain for a while, can we circle it again ?
