10th September 2011 there was a protest against Kenwright and the board for their lack of investment, mediocrity and failures.

10 years later and we've had the investment but the mediocrity and failures have continued.

All those saying it's kopite behaviour or similar, so what.

When those got new owners they transformed every aspect of the club and since that 2011 protest they've won the League Cup, Super Cup, Champions League and the ******* Premier League!

I make no apologies to anyone if my behaviour / attitude is 'kopite' if it means winning or success.

Those that sit on their hands doing nothing or even worse those happy clappers who are fine with mediocrity and failure that's fine. You're not 'wrong' in your opinion but I feel sad for you.

Why do you think anything will ever change with Kenwright, DBB, others on the leadership team, at the academy are still the same as they were a decade ago.

I wouldn't call it a shambles. If not for injuries to all our best players at key times I believe we would be in and around arsenal in their position and none of these things would be highlighted.

A couple of points like the youth system could be improved and also the philosophy should remain consistent but when your in the most competitive league in the world these things are easier said than done.

The narrative of calling things a shambles is one I can't get on board with. A shambles would be negative behaviour that could lead to the board selling up and putting Everton in a situation of no return.

This season was never going to be a strong one with the amount we spent and the injuries have been horrendous. I just take it for what it is and am happy to see what we can do next season after benitez has had a chance to spend. Making our home ground toxic is a positive for a visiting team so how in any way is that going to help us?
If the club isn’t a shambles then I don’t know what is in all honesty. Spent 500 million to regress to this. What’s that all about ?

#27minutesfor27years
The #27minutesfor27years is a campaign highlighting Everton’s longest peacetime trophy drought, 27 years in May 2022 since club Captain Dave Watson lifted the FA Cup at Wembley.
Why #27minutesfor27years?
It is designed to bring attention to the majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri who despite investing £685 million approximately since February 2016 (£450m into the club, £100m into the Bramley Moore stadium and £135m approx. in buying existing shares) has not seen an improvement in the club’s fortunes with multiple managerial appointments, a weakened and less competitive first team squad and declining performances on the pitch.
• The campaign welcomes and acknowledges his financial commitment to the club. However, the campaign draws attention to the governance and management of the club during these last 6 years.
• The campaign recognises that without investment and fresh recruitment in the board and executive teams the prospects of a change in fortune in the club remains slight.
• The campaign recognises that the fans’ emotional investment and financial commitment to the club are totally aligned with Farhad Moshiri’s investment. We seek the same outcome, a better return for both our investments.
• We call on Farhad Moshiri as major shareholder, to make the management changes necessary to see an improvement in performance
• We call on Farhad Moshiri to communicate in future through official club channels
• We call on Farhad Moshiri to engage, meet and discuss fan concerns with the fans
The Campaign
• Monday 6th December, Everton v Arsenal, Goodison Park. At the 27th minute fans supporting this campaign to leave their seats as a visual representation of the need for change at Everton
• The campaign respects individual decisions to leave their seats for 5 minutes, until half time or for the remainder of the match.

I wouldn’t say so, there’s people from Australia telling people to stay at home if they’re going to protest.

Facebook is probably a wider range of non-going match fans

It'll be a damp squid that will change nothing.

Until fans vote with their feet then little will ultimately change. Banners, aeroplanes, leaving your seat for 5 minutes to go to the bog isn't going to change anything.

I would agree with this. The comments on Facebook make me proper cringe as well.

All those against protesting are more concerned about other fans than the club's failings. I find it bizarre but each to their own. They can't complain when we are still a laughing stock in 5 years time.

Facebook is more representative of the middle aged da’s who are more likely to be pro-Kenwright and aren’t really that arsed if they see success again because they lived through the 80s.

Have to agree with that tbh, If they are going to walk out the ground after 27 minutes then fair play, but I'm not 100% sure about just getting up for 5mins and then sitting back down again. However if people are going to walk out after 27 mins then why go in the first place, better showing the empty seats from the word go imo.

Agree. Its easily dismissed. I guarantee if Carragher is on commentary for Sky he'll dismiss it as an 'early dash for the half time bovril'.

The problem for me is many of these fans intending to do the walk out have only found their voices 14 games into appointing a "kopite manager" - not all but many of these fans didn't care about Kenwright, Brands or DBB enough to protest 12 months ago when we were appointing Ancelotti and signing James Rodriguez.

My worry there is all it'll take is a sacking of Benitez and appointment of a Potter type manager and a few decent results later these fans will largely disappear.

I found my voice 10-15 years ago marching against "Blue Bill Best Evertonian in der werld" whilst being laughed at by the masses and he's still here.

Thats the concern - its taken an ex LFC manager and a poor run to rile blues up whilst the reality is we've been run into the ground over 2 decades by BK et al.

What sort of future does this group have? Are they in it for the long term?

I personally see very little coming of it and the group themselves in the main wont be commited enough to see any long term action through to be able to force any change.
