Right now we are the football story.

Spurs got rid of NES quickly when the chance came.

Villa, Norwich and Newcastle all moved to change the direction of their club and the narrative around them. For them it can only get better from now on - regardless of if they don't finish where they want too the lines are 'always going to be hard in the position they were in' or 'new manager will have a full preseason to get ideas across after being able to asses squad this season' blah blah blah.

Everton Football Club is the story for every media outlet going.

It should have been awhile back but the fact national media has suddenly realised that what's going on is just bonkers, not because it's Everton, because any football team that's spent like we have and regressed so much the alarm bells would be going.

The thing is though that as a fan base we don't do anything for the media to pick up on. We go the game, watch crap, maybe boo at the end and go home and come back for the next game.

So as far as the media are concerned the club might be in a mess but its the squeaky wheel that gets the grease and we dont kick off because its "kopite behaviour". Now is a perfect storm of fan backlash and nothing else going on in the media so we're the main story for us to get maximum exposure for any type of protest. Then that in turn puts maximum pressure on the board and the owner who'll be at the match on Monday.

Those who were happy seeing us lose Vs City have the half-arsed, disfuctiontial, apathetic club they desired. A club thats only 'ambition' is taking pride is others failings, merely happy to tow the line - now we're just doing in on a grander scheme.

Who knew mentality matters

If the reference to City isn't clear, it's aimed directly at those who wanted us to lose to 'prevent Liverpool winning the league'.

No mark mentality & now we've a no mark club to match.

That said I'd hope the current direction of Everton means said fans will focus on us going forward, not them, or anyone else for that matter.

Didn't think I'd get to a point where I'd turn my back on Everton, but ultimately that's what happening top to bottom at the club.

This isn't Everton, and the Everton I've grown up with haven't won a thing so I should be immune to it. However this squad since Roberto was sacked, has stooped lower and lower, not an ounce of individual professionalism in any of them.

It's cliche to say the shirt should mean something to them, it really doesn't have to, play for personal pride for all I care, bit we're filled with gutless cowards [Players, board, the lot] who've collectively stripped the identity of Everton away.

I'll happily turn my backs on them, they've already turned their backs on us.

You do you Dave . We’ll do this . Thanks
The pro-business language used is not great and doesn't set the required tone. Talking about his investment and making sure it's protected. It's a message to him designed not to upset him. The most insipid protest against a board ever.

The only way to bring him to heal is to make that stadium half empty each week.

Let’s see you vote with your feet then.

Pathetic. Going cap in hand to a billionaire owner and asking him for their wishes to prevail on board appointments and managerial appointments.

FFS, if you want to make that divvy sit up and take notice dont attend en masse. Stay outside. Cancel your season tickets.

I actually agree with this but it’s simply never going to happen, people just can’t stay away for some reason, for some people it is their entire lives. This would be by far the most effective form of protest though.

Villa fans did it in the past. Celtic fans did it. Plenty of fans do it. How are Evertonians different?

If you have any sense of this cynical board then you'll know that they know they only have to replace a manager in order to stop the questioning of their governance.

And that's all the organisers of this are after: Benitez out. It's the same message they;'ve been peddling all season and now rehashed to expand into more principled issues. They dont want Moshiri out. They want that stadium built. They might want kenwright out and Brands, but they KNOW they are under the protectorate of Moshiri.

The way you judge any protest is whether they have achievable targets. A boardroom protest against a man who holds all the cards and who the fans at base dont want shut of will achieve the square root of f.a.

...but then again, this proposed protest is not about that; it's not about achieving that objective. And anyone honest enough would say so.
Given the recent exposure of your historic opinion of our current manager I don’t think you should be questioning anybody’s honesty,

They just are. Even if 50% gave their season tickets up, other people would just step in to take them. We’ll always sell our allocation of season tickets unfortunately, people are just made up for a day out. Personally I’m not one of them who can’t live without going the match, I gave my season ticket up in 2019, but that’s not the case for the vast majority of our fans.
