Oh yeah and winning 1 game makes it okay for the posters like yourself to come out and have a swing at the so called "negative" fans. Hey we won a game but at least you get to point score off a meaningless win right?

How was this win meaningless ?

Jesus wept, it has put us into 6th and back into the race for Europe, a quarter final against Wigan is not the be all and end all of Everton football club.

I think we'll finish 6th at the end of the season at best and so I think the result gives us false hope, in my opinion. I hope to be proven wrong, just how I see it panning out Ginge.

Let's just call the FA and tell them we're not playing the rest of the season because there's no point. Serious question: do some of you even enjoy being a fan? Because I do. Jesus you can't even take any joy in a great win over a great team that puts us in the hunt for the champions league. I'm not angry but I do feel sorry for you. You act like being hopeful is a sin or something.

Johnny, I'm not having a go at anyone for having hope we will get 4th, good luck to you mate! I would love us to, but I don't see it. And of course I enjoy being a fan, I wouldn't follow football otherwise.

I am born Everton, to an Everton dad, his dad before him, his dad before him, you don't have a choice in being a fan or not, Everton is your family, Everton is you. Just like family, you have ups and downs, highs and lows. You forgive and forget, but it takes time like anything, and I'm still a touch annoyed over last week, but it's fading.

I haven't seen the odds from Paddy Power of others for us to get into the Top 4 from our current position and teams to play but I suspect the odds that Wigan would beat us by 3 to nil last week were pretty wide also - fact is though it happened so Yes we can do it even if the odds are long

Another stupid over reaction.

People being negative = boo.

People being positive = boo.

Why can't all fans just post their opinions and how they feel without being moaned at for it, without being accused of not being a proper fan?

Its ridiculous from all sides, and maybe even i do it but its just a load of bollocks really. We all support this club but until there's a handbook that tells us how to support properly people just need to accept that we all support in our own different ways and if you don't like how others support the club thats tough cause there's nothing you can do about it.

Personally, i thought we'd lose yesterday : i was wrong. I said i didn't want us to win because it would make last week even more frustrating : when we scored the first i was wrong, when we scored the second i had tears down my cheek. I've been in a good mood because of the win ever since, yet i'm still annoyed that we're not looking forward to a semi final, and even more annoyed that we put in a performance like that after a poor performance last week. And even more annoyed that its not the first time.

I'm still hopeful that we can get fourth but i'm pretty damn sure we're going to throw away leads and fail to beat gash team at home which will put our chances of fourth to bed.

And if Moyes stays it will be the same every season. But i'll still be supporting the team 100% regardless of what i feel or what i write on here.

I reckon this is a good post. Well said lid

Comments like 'I hope we lose' or 'I couldn't care if it was 5-0 or 0-5' are strange ways of 'supporting' the team. Imo.

Mate I'm not accusing anyone of not being a proper fan. But I'll tell you I watched the game and then got on here expecting, I don't know, people to be happy we won. Instead I got a lot of "it means nothing", "we're still doomed" stuff like that. And I guess it just set me off.

Fair play if you don't think we'll get there. I'm not really expecting it either. But it is possible. It's more than possible actually, we just have to play to our capabilities. Sorry, but Arsenal, Spurs, and even Chelsea, on the day, aren't any better than we are, and we've proven that. Chelsea the only of the 3 to beat us, and that was unlucky. We deserved at least a draw there.

So at the end of the day, of course everyone can be negative if they want. Wigan sucked. But it didn't ruin my life. I like looking forward to days like yesterday. I like feeling good when Everton play well and win. I look forward to looking at the table and looking at the possibilities of moving up.

If that makes me delusional then so be it.

We've still got a chance of finishing 4th. If Chelsea fail to beat West Ham today then that chance increases slightly.

Personally I don't think we will get there, but there is certainly still a possibility of it. I think we can go to away to any of those big teams and put in a winning performance, we're definitely capable of it (despite the record).

I respect other peoples' opinions on here but the negativity or 'realism' is just pathetic sometimes. I understand it, I really do. You don't want to set yourself up for a fall, or maybe you just don't have that much faith in our team, but other people do, so it works both ways if people are being shouted down for being too negative or too positive. The difference is that negativity can make this place down right depressing. If I wanted to read pages of "We're sh*t", or "We'll be lucky to get 7th", then I'd go and read Toffeeweb or Bluekipper. This place is better than that.

I'm not saying that people who think we won't get 4th are being negative, but the people who are saying we'll finish 7th or we'd be lucky to get 6th are being overly negative, in my opinion.

I hate making comparisons to that lot over the park, but one of the differences between them and us is that they believe in their team. We laugh at their delusion but at least they dream.

I've just read that back and it's a load of guff but hopefully it makes some sense, as I can't be arsed re-typing it.

While its mathematically possible its something to play for, which make these last remaining games worth something!
I personally dont think we will get 4th, but we are only 4 points behind, no reason why we cant have one last push to the end of the season.

Our team always get a result against City and they did look pretty ****e. We can easily pull in another performance like we did against Wigan. We are still looking weak squad wise. We're now missing Fellaini and Pienaar, Howard and Jags. Not looking good.
