We have an excellent owner in place who has bought into the tradition of the club completely whilst still pushing a progressive agenda to see us improve. We are proof that there are good owners out there if you are prepared to find them. Moshiri shouldn't be punished and forced to relinquish a percentage of his shares because of the crimes of other people, I feel far safer with him and our current directors at the helm than I would with half the board being stacked with die hard blues.
Sadly, and the fans are culpable in this as much as anyone. Finding a new owner is usually a race to the bottom to attract whichever despot, human rights abuser or blood sucking venture capitalist you can just because they bring the money. We saw with Newcastle recently, one of the world's most evil men tried to buy that club and their fans were all for it.
One thing that needs to be stopped, and this would automatically dissuade a lot of Americans from taking an interest in our clubs, is the practise of buying a club with its own money and putting them into debt. It's just happened again with Burnley. Top of the criteria when the premier league is assessing a new owner, before looking at whatever skeletons may be in their closet, should be "can you pay for the amount of shares you are trying to buy with your own capital tomorrow?" If the answer is no, tell them to jog on.
