6 + 2 Point Deductions

Does anyone know what impact the Forest charge has on our appeal and how it complicates the points deduction?

If you don’t know maybe thoughts on how the PL intend to deal with it. I’m probably being a bit thick and haven’t worked it out for myself yet.
Will be different they will try argue about the years in championship, also will try what we did with rich but will loose that for johnson. Can see them having alot more trouble than us we have had alot of points sig, the war ect that could have been given.

All I know is

We were building a stadium

We have worked hand in hand with the Premier League for years

Interest charges for stadium costs were allowed and then suddenly not allowed after which we had taken on the debt already. After we were told it would be ok

We have had one of the lowest net spends in last 3 years

Ukraine war shot up all costs of construction a crazy amount

We had to sell year on year our best players

We had our most valuable player commit an offense, which is very rare and had to basically write off the asset

We have had steady improvement in all our accounts year on year and have acted more sustainably while trying to fend off relegation three years running.

And for forest? Well they spent a ludicrous ton of money in one window
I think youll find he was never charged with any OFFENCE

He's right, and sadly also wrong. The people that actually make football are the fans, yet a system has been created where TV money and sponsors hold the power.

If you use Arsenal as an example, who are one of the biggest earners from match day revenue in the PL, only take 22% of their revenue is from that stream.

Double that and you're looking at the TV revenue alone, before you add 36% generated through commercial deals, which linked to the TV revenue too,

The executives aren't bothered about match going fans or those who've followed the club for years; they want the ones who'll buy Sky Sports and all the kits.

Chicken and egg though mate, if there isn’t the crowd, then there isn’t the sponsors or TV.

I think it’s a good point. If football looses its ability to identify with the masses and becomes to elite and people switch off the market plummets.

Take the NFL, the lowest priced ticket for the Superbowel I saw was 10k and you’d binoculars to see the game, I don’t think football tolerates that and if it does it will loose huge swaths of the market.

Every year that passes football becomes competitive and less Romantic, I love football, but bar pure obsession with Everton it’s hard work.
