6 + 2 Point Deductions

Dyche & the guys will take this to the chin. It's not and it is at the same time not their fight. They'll do what they'll do. Which will be gaining the points needed. Sure, they can slap more deductions etc. It really doesn't matter anymore. It's us against them. If we go down, we go down. This club will bounce back. And that's what's frightening them.

UTFT.
Thats our aim to stay up & put two fingers up to the Premiership corrupt lawmakers ......

What shocked me what the dismissal of all of mitigating arguments put forward. I know it wasn't a court, and I'm not a lawyer, but it was a quasi-judicial process and I thought credit would have been given for the club's successful attempts to reform. That was entirely flung out the window. Again, I would have thought the PL, as well as the club would have a joint interest in claiming credit there to showing the process is working..

Instead a club which admitted a breach of P&L sustainability rules but was found not to have acted dishonestly is put in and real and present threat of relegation which they know in turn threatens administration. It's hard not to think they don't want the club to fold and depart the scene altogether.

If that's the case, they have to set fire to everything in their path on the way out. I can accept punishment but I can't accept an institution of Evertons standing and history being held up as a sacrificial lamb and for all of the corruption, dirty money, and failed governance issues to be laid at our door.
You can't really say it was a dismissal of the mitigating arguments given the arguments put forward were fanciful at best. The arguments were heard but the panel decided that Everton had taken liberties and high risks in their decision making. It's been hard to disagree with that when you see the arguments that were presented. It was like we were arguing we were doing 40mph in a 30mph instead of 60mph.

In all of this you have to remember that we admitted guilt. We then have tried to take action to ensure we don't make a bad situation worse. However, we have actually admitted guilt to the charge and we have passed the threshold you are allowed. It's quite startling the reaction here to the mis-management of the club and excuses some want to make for Moshiri's incompetence as the owner.

We have been found guilty, a penalty applied that shouldn't really affect us in terms of relegation and we should use this as a fresh start. Serious consideration should be given to an appeal in the hope of reducing the points deducted but in doing that, we have to accept that some punishment for our breach of the laws has to happen.

THE TIMES

Given the 10-point deduction handed to Everton, the threat of a 30-point deduction or automatic relegation from the Premier League would look to be very real for both Manchester City and Chelsea should charges be proved in an independent regulatory commission.

Everton's sanction was for a single breach of Premier League rules, while City have been charged with 115 alleged breaches - although City's case is not likely to be settled for at least two years.

Chelsea remain under investigation but charges look inevitable given that the new owners have self-reported what appear to be substantial payments that would have broken Premier League rules during the previous ownership under Roman Abramovich.

The Toffees are England’s second-longest serving top-flight side – their last relegation came in the 1950-51 campaign. Their demotion was sealed with a thumping 6-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, and it took until 1954 for Everton to gain promotion.

I think that is one reason we got clobbered with a 10 points deduction ....

Interestingly Arsenal never won promotion on merit. I think they finished 4th - but they've always known how to grease the wheels.

Didn't Everton admit guilt? City have always denied it. The Prem have the sum total of zero evidence against City. I fully expect us to be found innocent. The whole point of the 115 charges is for reputational damage, and it has worked beautifully for them.
You would be better served avoiding this thread I would say. I don't think you intend to antagonise but announcing citys innocence in financial dealings is just too laughable to be seen as anything other than that.
