6 + 2 Point Deductions

Wtf so essentially what the 6 won’t play each other until later rounds.

Not even trying to hide the corruption now.

Game is rotten.

How is that going to make a difference to the big 6 when they normally put out a completely different XI in the league cup. Fixture congestion was never an issue when they brought in the group games for UCL which added games to the season.

Have Leicester been charged yet?
To date Leicester have been charged with not submitting their 22/23 ( when they were members of the PL) by 30/3/24. Leicesters argue that the PL can’t charge them yet in both the PL and EFL the suggestion is that is exactly what they can do.

Leicester have put their case to the EFL body which is akin to an arbitration panel because at one point the EFL hierarchy suggested that the PL would deal with 22/23 and any points penalty awarded by the PL would be honoured by the EFL. That panel determined that in accordance with the current rules that couldn’t happen.
The irony here is that Leicester had already been successful in front of the same panel arguing that the EFL had no right to require them, Leicester, to submit in year documents

So in effect Leicester fell between the cracks in 23/24. The likelihood is that both the EFL& PL will align their rules which in effect will allow points deductions awarded by one league to be implemented by the other.

So as we stand Leicester have a transfer embargo in place via the EFL which will almost certainly be removed on 6/6 when Leicester become a PL member.

Leicester will probably get a 22/23 PSR charge for exceeding the PL limits soon after 6/6. Possibly if the EFL decide then almost certainly a 23/24 charge will follow idc.

Leicester have obstructed at every opportunity so almost certainly won’t be getting any mitigation

Goody gumdrops

Given the PL wanted to deduct us 17 points this season, I'm looking forward to see what their recommended sanction is for City when they finally get round to processing their 115 charges.

Crazy times. PL like some predator at the bottom of the ocean that missed its prey and are like its ok. We'll get you on the return.
Any sympathy i might have had though went after the way they put the boot into Everton.

'They (Leicester) are facing a difficult summer with the prospect of a points deduction for breaching financial rules. Sources have estimated that the punishment could be anything between six to 15 points.' -Telegraph

Going to be hard to attract players etc to that situation you'd imagine.

15 points for Leicester....I do find the randomness of this all bizarre. At least with administration you know it's a fixed 9 point penalty and no arguing that.

Leicester will probably be 5-6 points. What's comical about them is they spent all of summer 2022 desperately holding out for a decent fee from Chelsea for Fofana. They got it, barely signed anyone for a year, still got relegated and now they're going to be hit with a deduction so pretty bad situation although I actually think Maresca going will help.

Get in a Dyche type conservative manager and they should just about stay up. Steve Cooper would be an interesting pick for them.
